  1. Thanks for the encouraging words, we felt as if we had a shit night at Kef last saturday but hope to bounce back with a bunch of new songs soon. We wont have any gigs during September as I will be away but hopefully we will have something lined up for sometime in October. Tom
  2. Thanks to all you guys for taking time out to give some constructive criticism and positive feedback...I'm listening carefully cause the learning curve is steep!! Look forward to seeing you all again sometime soon. Cheers.
  3. Hello, I thought Saturday was an excellent night with a great mix of bands and styles. I was interested to hear what everyone else thought of the night and their opinions on the bands. I am also interested to hear some constructive opinions/criticisms on Arctik, which is the band I play in. We just started out, so all opinions/views would be appreciated. I especially enjoyed The Works for their raw, to the point sound and The Void who clearly know how to put a show on with style. The party poper moment was classic! Cheers.
  4. The best way I find, is to have your music written, then take a guitar or whatever and play the verse chords over and over and over and just hum a melody to your chords. Once you have a melody to go with your chords, listen to what your hearing. The combination of chords and melody will provoke thoughts that meet the feeling of the music and then all you have to do is write about what the music is making you feel and once you get the first couple of lines going, use your imagination to ellaborate. This, in my opinion is far better than just scribbling on an empty pad.
