  7. music orientated. MODERATE! MODERATE!
  8. Yeah, it was far to action orientated at times, it just seemed to go on for a bit too long. Given the choice i would still watch battle royale 2, 5 times in a row, than have to sit throught the god awful kill bill vol 2.
  9. I liked the second one. I was very impressed by the fact that they actually sought to do something different rather than just rehash the winning formula. I especially like the way that they linked the two films. The first film was about the relationships between adult and child in a westernised Japan, whereas the second film explores the relationship between "that Country" and the rest of the world, drawing on American treatment of Japanese as lesser beings (children) during the occupation after world war 2. There are obvious plot holes, especially at the very end, but it wasn't what I would call shit. Neither was it anything near as good as the original, but then that can largely be explained by the lack of Takeshi. It is certianly better than most of the films that fall out of the rearend of hollywood.

  11. how is this possible? It's probably my favourite, well it is at the moment anyway. It has the most amazing characters, and I love the way it views all the old cartoons in the same perverted way as i do. Teehee unabooboo.

  14. the anticon 1999-2004 sampler is utter genius. I love the pedestrian songs on it, not as good as the one on music for the advancement of hip hop but genius all the same.
  15. Didn't sage francis pull out of the glasgow gig? I'm fairly sure that was the reason I was so happy I didn't go to Glasgow for triptychness afterall.
  16. i think the fact that i didn't realise that there was an upstairs at all shows the state i was in before i arrived. Liars were lovely, such pretty pretty shoes. Pink grease smelled worse than almonds, i don't like the smell of almonds all that much. I left before wire for no reason I have been able to discover since. I hear neil was rocking the anarchistic vibe by trashing mcdonalds, you fiend.

  19. The most important thing you have said here is your point about female bassists. The amount of token women in bands is appauling, it is not a coincidence that most of these women play bass. Don't get me wrong however (I fear I shall be attacked by a great number of female bass players) I am not saying that all women that play bass do so because it is easy. What I am saying is that, those that are recruited by, or join bands specifically because of the benefits to the band of their gender, generally play bass. This would seem to suggest that it is easier to play bass than it is to play guitar. Atleast in the sense that a band can get away with a poor bass line far easier than a poor guitar riff at the same difficulty. All instruments are difficult to master, some however, are more difficult than others. Personally I suck supremly at both bass and guitar. Also, why exactly, is the difficulty so important? I could write an incredibly shit song that would be incredibly difficult to play, it would still however, be shit. Perhaps thats the real reason most women seem to play bass, pissing contests have less appeal to them. EDIT: I didn't really read the quoted post all that much, re-reading it now, there was no need to quote it at all as it does not have any real relevance to what I said. Still it looks pretty.
  20. I agree, the only way it would be able to work would require certain fascist powers being given to a moderator who would have the lovely job of sorting out 'serious' posts, deleting posts ruining the topic, while at the same time accounting for the fact that some people, while clearly uninformed, are still entitle to their opinions. I also agree with Neil's reasons, but I think there are far more pointless, and underused forums that already exist. Also, songs ohia are genius.
