    fudge last night

that fat hairy ginger bloke on bass has got a great memory,I understood everything he said, it was nice to be reminded of some great times in various venues,BAH only caught the last chord of Deadloss due to being mugged aurally by baby dixons mob in Drummonds.

    dedalus

just for the record... Dedalus could NOT be described as namby pamby shite...therefor they are being offered a gig on Sunday 26th Sept at Drummonds, the catch?,you get paid fuck all ,BUT,the 2 door money goes towards entertaining residents of an old folks home...up for it?,I quite fancy King Liar and Masamune tae, and of course The Real Shocks and Maple. If it was me I would jump at the chance, and am going to, by playing in 2 bands on the day,any suggestions about this event?.
  3. shun worthless dirge that's what FUCK NAMBY SHITE means,we sold van loads of t shirts and long sleeved tops and hoodies, shorts, hats, underpants!etc etc with the bands logo on the front and on some the cheeky shite on the back, others included I'm too mighty for my stoat, and, come on baby mince my tatties,it paid the bills, and quite a lot more than gig fees, plus we did it ourselves and gave punters good quality merchandise at discount prices, like 4 for a screen stars best t shirt screen printed tae! By the way I used to have hair like the singer out of Hanoi Rocks .but shaved it off after a little kid in the street said I looked like Limahl oot o Kajagoogoo,so although they were a wee bit on the namby side Hanoi Rocks did actually ROCK,in a lame assed American sort of way, Anyway tonight (Sunday 18th July),XS RELOCAT are doing a secret gig at The MOORINGS OPEN MIKE NIGHT,so if you want to hear us try oot wir new songs come doon aboot 8pm. I guarantee you will not hear any namby pamby shite apart from our instrumental STAIRWAY which will shock the pants aff ye after a minute or so,come on doon, but ye hid better wear earplugs cos wir afa loud, cheers,Biz

ok let's face it the calendatr is shite, where is all the listings for Drummonds,Billy Bundys,The Globe,The Blue lamp,Drakes,The Malt Mill etc etc etc, what's on tonight,I hear the Needles are playing drummonds is this true?
  5. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha h huh hu huh You guys have made me laugh out loud for 5 minutes ,it all seems all the funnier as you probably actually care enough to be pissed off,ha ha ha just let it lie and go and do something instead like buy me a drink at a King Liar gig, they ROCK,best thing I've seen in a while.
  6. go to see 16 again we want gigs and can play New York Dolls,Ramones,Wire, etc 2 hour set waiting to be gigged, but where?.
  7. thanks I'll be there Nice one,thanks.
  8. Drummonds?,Kef?,Billy Bundys? where can I find out what's happening on line?,the calendar is a joke, mind you so is the bands attitude of never advertising their gigs.
  9. Handags at Dawn I woul like to become a boxing promoter ,how about it ladies fancy putting on the gloves for a 3 minute round in the middle of an XS RELOCAT gig?.

    Chumbawumba

caption competition what is the kid saying Peek a BOO
  12. I have not read anything about this but... my bands would gladly play Dr Drakes,The LemonTree, and Drummonds for free, that's because they are worth it,anything less have got to pay for it,but I think bands would be well advised to put up posters and flyers and become bar flies for a while as I never turn down a band if they ask me to go and see them .BANDS must GET OFF THEIR ARSES AND PROMOTE THEIR GIGS.I feel sorry for the venues which are being spurned in favour of cheaper drink elsewhere and free admittance.I never mind paying a few quid to get into Dr Drakes or Drummonds ,these places are businesses and need too turn a profit which is sadly missed by the mummys boys and girls of the world,Dr Drakes rules Miller on tap and interesting music EVERY night,go there or be a suit.

    Stripey

drums and loops One of the best live acts I have ever seen were called ATOM FLASK they crossed the barrier between club and gig incredibly well, as you can see I'm not very good at describing music cos I do not read the music press,I do not want to be told what is good,I would rather go and experience things and make my own mind up. I go to more events than anyone I have ever met and love acts like Dread Zone,Ozric Tentacles,KLF,and Bentley Rhythy Ace. I think stripey is missing out on the human interaction that promotes fresh innovative ideas spontaneously and playing live to me is what it is all about as you can change what you usually do into something better instantly. I do have a set of Roland V drums and am up for providing you with that subtle edge that drum machines just fall short of. I can play almost every style of music apart from Jazz. I can play reggae hat/kick/snare patterns like a fucker, come on Stripey,I know you are a bit of a modern punk with your let's stir this place up attitude, let's collaborate on a tune,I write loads of dancey pish on the computer but it really is not as much fun as playing with other people.
  14. great night Radio Lucifer and King Liar were awesome, not sure about the Rat Daddy cover of Flock of Seagulls though,in fact that, coupled with the make up,two dangly earrings and wet look leather shirt made Dr Drakes seem more like Club 2000,ha ha ha,Rat Daddy mix too many styles in each song and just when you think they are going to explode, they turn a good tune into a safe very un rock and roll dirge.I remember the 80s ,and they are better to be left as a distant memory, especially Flock of Seagulls who were never cool,in fact they personified just how shit everything became after the punk and new wave scene cooled down, leaving crap bands with even crapper hairstyles to disturb our TV screens. I hate to sound homophobic but Rat Daddys bass player and drummer tried to look ROCK but just looked like a right pair of poofs, but Johnny and Sam were Rock n Roll monsters and fucken ROCKED. Highlight of the evening,mr potato head giving Rat Daddy his autograph instead of an e mail address,ha ha ha.
  15. if King Liar play... Super Transformation Valkyrie #1 it will be worth the 3 ,superb track off of Fudge Fanzine 8, available now only 2,it really is a BELTER
  16. Pablo Ian Slater is in a band called Pablo,(buy their CD it's fantastic), with Paul Fyfe of Coast and the Loveless drummer.Ian has been doing the tour mixing desk for Keane. They plan a new CD later this year.Pablo played in the Triple Kirks and also The Lemon Tree supporting Eighties Matchbox B line disaster.Fucking great, LOUD AS HELL ,louder than Dick Dale or Motorhead.
  17. Absynth Quite fond of my sanity and ears, so have not tried Absynth, what's it like?.
  18. H a ha ha Nice one, King Liar have the stand out track, and as usual all the fucking swearing is great, well done team Fudge.
  19. big band AND rEGGAE Buddy Rich and Sly Dunbar
  20. Dave Grohl overrated? you jest ,I have been learning The Kil ling Joke CD and the drumming is hard as fuck,on a par with Taylor fae The Foos,or Nevermind.Bet ye canna play drums.
  21. without any doubt or hesitation Buddy Rich is the best drummerI have ever seen, and he was fairly knocking on, probably in his late 60 s early 70s. Jim Ewen fae The Staccato set is my favourite Aberdeen drummer.
  22. Mekons where were you? As it happens both bands will play The Lemon Tree Weds 22nd Sept, but 16 again only get a 40 minute slot which do you want? New Rose Janie Jones Tommy gun Let's lynch the landlord Sonic Reducer Rockaway beach In a Rut A Bomb Head kicked in tonight Homicide I'm on fire Uncontrollable urge Shot by both sides Time's up Autonomy Chinese rocks Mars bars In the City Submission etc etc
  23. ha har dee ha ha ha Betamax KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK,don't let these folk suck you into their humorless shite arguments. If they can't take a joke Fuck em. Most seem to be far too young to have formed any real opinions of their own. Someone got offended cos I stuck up a poster declaring XS RELOCAT to be "Tighter than yer little sisters burger", FUCKING HOLY RINGPIECE BATMAN it's only cunting words. Get a life ye door sad fuckers, instead of spending your time being negative on here,go DO SOMETHING REAL for a change. GO TO SEE REAL SHOCKS,if only to marvel at the drummers hair,it really IS fab.
  24. Yeah! Of course they were, but that does not explain why several people asked us if we were selling CDs.People were singing, dancing, heckling and generally having a hoot,THAT is what gigs are about, not playing lame arsed shite to your friends and relatives who in all honesty wouldn't know a good band if it leapt off stage and bit their arse. Fuck me,I seem to be getting very analy fixated, must be something to do with the latest song of mine "Bedroom bowling".
  25. the point the point of 16 again is to have a laugh and remind or enlighen folk that there were some very good tunes being played by bands who never got a crack at being rich and famous. Our set list is a cracker, who else is gonna play songs by The Ruts, Buzzcocks, etc etc ?
