  1. get singing lessons I love Interpol and Dedalus, but it has to be said that the vocals of Dedalus could be improved, after all most folk focus on the vocal melody and that is the only thing that lets Dedalus down, what time are you on tonight?.
  2. only a couple of hours to go.. I am chain smoking like a beagle and drinking like a fish... the question is...do I carry on for another 40 years or start healthier sportier persuits?. I am an all or nothing guy, and fancy taking up snowboarding, which inevitably will lead to injuries, so it seems to me I have the choice of giving up the rock n roll excess and becoming fit and healthy again in order to bounce back from the injuries. I did boxing and karate and rock climbing and canoeing and the only thing that comes close is drums and surfing, and surfing in Aberdeen sucks ,so I am in persuit of something that makes me feel alive, although,I only feel truly alive when I am trying to cheat death. Smoking and drinking are a shit way to go, any sugesstions for something that will make me feel ALIVE ? fuck me almost 40 and I have never kissed a girl with a pierced tongue,I live in hope.
  3. did you hear about the dyslexic agnostic? He wasn't sure if there was a dog.
  4. I want to contact Graeme Bug Stephen the Jazz bass player, anyone know his number? cheers Biz.
  5. BC Rich Beast Bass IT'S A BEAUTY Go to Captain Toms on Ann Street and check it out in their upstairs shop,it is fantastic, but I need to buy a drumkit and need 350 ,which for the Beast is an absolute gift as the action and look of the thing are amazing, cheers Biz.
  6. Fuck Namby Shite if you want loud exciting sounds go to Dr Drakes, life is too short to stand around yawning at gigs.
  7. yeah AKA the fox are pretty hot, but turning 13 strain my tatties every time, Dedalus are one of my faves from 2004 though. It will be my birthday, I can not think of anything I would rather be doing, and it wil be a good practise session for the piss up in Dr Drakes on Sat.
  8. hell YEAH we went to The Moorings and Dr Drakes and got very drunk, but at least we never played namby pamby shite,so if you like lame assed rock you had better stay clear, plus we are going to have a drinking competition,so will be more drunk than usual. This is NOT to be recommended to young bands, just take a look at us and you will see what sexndrugsnrocknrollexcess does to you after 20 years hard at it.
  9. LIVE BANDS the mighty HUMAN Generator - 16 again - DJs- Blitzkrieg - Bob - Colin Response - Mark Nicol make an old man happy, come to my 40th party and watch the fire brigade put out the cake, and hear me try to play drums drunk, cheers, Biz.
  10. mind you... If my memory is correct they did have a good song called The lapdance of the Gods.
  11. Several years ago I sent you a letter saying that Booker T's onions were green, and am still waiting for my J60 CD which was promised as a prize, I have attended Dr Drakes Bar on a weekly basis since, to see if it turns up, but it never has. As I am fast approaching the big four oh, maybe my free birthday bash on Sat 15th will see the CD beautifully wrapped and given to it's rightful owner. After all, who else would go to see literally hundreds of bands and DJs in the hope that they will recieve a CD which will more than probably be shit anyway?.
  12. och aye I went to the Cobweb, St Kays, the Northern Hotel, the Station Hotel, the Amatola, and lots of other one off gigs in unusual locations, and even saw Jonathan Richman and Positive Noise at a place next to the links golf course, they were put on by Duncan Hendry, whom I still consider to be one of Aberdeens best promoters of the 80s/90s, he put on loads of gigs and had a great Alternative Festival or two. I used to roadie for The Battery Brides, The Screaming Ab Dabs and Anthem , I only wish I could remember more, but I always lived the sexndrugsnrocknroll lifestyle so most of it is just a blur. Toxic Ephex were one of the best local bands and still are. The Loveless were cool, APB sucked, but Ians new band Pablo are great. Fusion AKA Ritzy was a nae bad place to see The Waterboys, Love and Money, King Kurt etc etc, Johnny Marrs guitar playing was good but I did not like the Smiths. Saw Echo and the Bunnymen at The Caird Hall, still one of my best gigs ever, Pete De fritas was my biggest inspiration as a teenager ,his drumming was superb.
  13. I am sick of the calendar having fuck all on it, could someone please tell me if there are any live gigs Tonight Sun 2nd Jan 2005,cheers.
  14. nice big bar upstairs I saw Stiff Little Fingers The Wall The Cure Siouxsie and the Banshees Lynton Quesi Johnston Motorhead Tank Kid Creole and the coconuts Bauhaus The Cramps U2 were one of the best, the venue seemed too small for them.
