Its quite funny, i just saw the words "why do you guys sound..." i and i thought to myself, i bet thats some tosser on our forum asking why we sound so much like Maiden again. Shockingly enough... It's not intentional in the slightest, we certainly did not set out thinking 'i know lets go and rip off Iron Maiden...' Yes Maiden are one of our influences, in fact they are prolly the only band we all totally have in common, but bands like Dream Theater and Metallica are also massive influences. Personally, I dont really even see such a close comparison between us and maiden... we're a fuckload heavier for a start. Yes certain things can be drawn between the 2 bands, like ooh 3 guitarists, lots of vocal and guitar harmonies and big ass stuck in your head chorus melodies, but really... "an intentional clone band" get a grip.

actually, anyone just recommend good ways just to convert wma's to mp3's? i've got about 300 hours of wma's but none of it can go on my mp3 player.... pain in the arse!

...apologies about that! Its mainly because we've all been so busy!!! Just thought i'd take some time for a quick update.... Mac has been sitting in front of his new computer from morning to night working on all the tracks for the upcoming Album. Joe has been on holiday (lucky bastard!) is currently in Amserdam, but shall be back with us soon. Len has been isolating himself at his parents house practicing 5 hours a day. I have been furiously trying to recover a year of sleeping in for college, recording guitar parts for the album and starting work on the new Atomweb. Dan has been very busy abusing overweight people on these boards along with taking some time out to have a 9-5 job, be in MMW and record parts for the album. And erskine has put on a few pounds and been mostly lazing about the house in a thong.... ...i'm so dead.... anyway yeah, by the end of the next couple of weeks we'll all be back, so hold in with us! so its a buzzing coming through the amp? not off the guitar, like a fretbuzz or whatever (when you play it not plugged in)? sounds like it could be a dodgy connection, possibly in your cable if it dissapears when you use a different one? try different combinations of cable/amp if its constantly there, its a pretty safe bet it's your guitar, as already said, prolly your earth. but if it vanishes when you change cable, my moneys on your cable being dodge. *edit - just read your post again (properly this time!), if its just when you touch metal its ok, then, yeah earth definitly, is a simple enough procedure to fix. just seems weird its not there with a different cable*

outta the 2 you originally pointed out, i'd prolly of gone with the ESP, despite the fact ESP are very careless when they check guitars (my KH isnt straight, no shit) i just dont like ibanez and i have no idea why.... i hate the pointy horns it has, i think thats prolly something to do with it... and yes i know its just an asthetic thing but it does put me off. Strats fucking RULE by the way! by far the most versatile of my small army of axes, its a sheer joy to play, and if it was only a bit better set up i would of easily used it over anything for recording the new album, but thats not fenders fault, thats mine for grating it off the stairs in drakes once.... oh yeah, and its so bloody tough! if you've ever been to an atom gig you'll prolly know i dont take the greatest care of my instruments, but the strat hasn't got more than a small dent in the paintwork and a wee nick in one of the frets. Fenders rule and i wont have a bad word said about them! (oh is it not possible that they seem 'generic' because they are actually really good?!) ah, and out of those two jacksons someone put up, i wouldnt touch either of them, horrible shapes! the best novelty shaped guitar has to be the BC Rich Beast, but it looks way better as a bass. ROCK!

well, Fight not Won on 'Out of Exile' does for a start... its not really that weird, which is prolly why most people dont notice it in that song anyway, its in the heavy bit after the chorus "dun, dun, dun - dun, dun, dun" six beats n a rest... making 7 beats, 7/4 easy! theres also a couple of sneaky 9/4(is that right prog-master?) bits in that song actually.. just wait until you hear the Watcher on TTTB, heh, your in for some fun moshing there!

Probably... The Tie that Binds off the new album, just coz its got such a cool groove to it... or, the Watcher just because its such a beast... and this was all without intentionally plugging the new album!!
