  1. As there are people that use these forums from much further afield than just Aberdeen, can I suggest that it's recommended in the guidelines that people state where they are based. Also when advertising stuff, a price should be included? On another board that I moderate posts are removed that don't include this information, and the for sale section gets less cluttered up with rubbish.
  2. I know you like a challenge G!!!
  3. As a prophet once sang "Just don't come home too soon"
  4. What is he looking to change to? I have some nice vintage gear he might like:up:
  5. Stick up a picture of the hard case. I'll easy swap you a well padded Warwick gig bag in exchange for the hard case, but I want to see it first. I'm in Aberdeen on Sunday/Monday so only a small window of opportunity for transaction....
  6. Don't take the strings off. Put those silicone moisture granules in the case. Store with case upright. You'll have no problems. That's the way I store all my guitars and I've not had any problems whatsoever......
  7. The ME50B has both a fretless effect and a Slow Gear effect.....
  8. I've got a Boss ME50B, which is a step down from the GT6B. As I understand it the GT6B has the proper circuitry from the individual stomp boxes, but the ME50B has a close approximation. I've found the fretless effect on the ME50B pretty rubbish to be honest. There seems to be a bit of lag in the effect, and on of the noisiest effects on the unit. Other than that, it's pretty decent piece of kit and I'm quite happy with it, so I'd imagine the GT6B would be even better!!
  9. No, you simply think you are playing better when your drunk. Make a tape of it, and a tape of you playing sober and compare the two......
  10. Jamiroquai. Their first three albums I found really inspirational, and it was what made me get really serious about my bass playing. I decided that I was going to learn the entire Travelling Without Moving album note for note, and once I finished that, I moved onto the others!!! Regardless of what people think, there is some amazing musicianship on those albums. Also usually once I've learned a piece of music, the pleasure of listening to it diminishes for me, but I can still listen to Jamiroquai. I went off them during the Funk Oddessy and Synkronised era, but their last album was a blinder! Also opened me up to so much more music like disco and soul, and ignited my love for acid jazz. Probably my second fave would have to be Metallica. They just give me a buzz everytime I put them on!
  11. It had gone downhill the last time I was there. Yeah, about 25 per head, but it's a good fun meal:up:
  12. What sort of training do the people that carry out this scarring have? It's the single most ridiculous thing I have seen. Idiots.
  13. I agree. Gary Moore was the first of the new generation of guitar prodigys. He may be a great player, but his playing just leaves me cold.
  14. I've heard of a few heavy bands that downtune doing this. It does sound different, but it may be a sound that you like. Don't think you'll do the amp or speakers any damage as bass amps can handle the high frequencies ok...
  15. Oops! Failed to notice the December bitty!! Makes In Utero ineligible too!!! Oh well, I'll move The Prodigy and Beastie Boys up into the top 5 then!!
  16. Radiohead - The Bends Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream Nirvana - In Utero Green Day - Dookie Massive Attack - Protection I reckon that these will be pretty high up on the list. It's also bound to include Californication(RHCP), Ill Communication(Beastie Boys), Music For The Jilted Generation(Prodigy), Hot Fuss(Killers), Permission To Land(The Darkness) and either Everything Must Go or This Is My Truth....(Manics)
  17. Shit, I forgot about Art Fuck!! That was life changing!
  18. As it says, what moments for you are your best being on stage? For me a few stand out. First Spinal Pap gig when the McFits were doing the midget dance on their knees to Stonehenge, my first gig with Electric Tibet playing opening for the Microphones, and the first live performance of my acid jazz band playing songs that I had written where folk came legging it up the stairs into the venue shouting "No way, it's a live band with a trumpets and shit" and stuck around to see us!!!! What made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up?
  19. Simple really. Money. Why would a mainstream act spend the money coming to Aberdeen when they could just as easily play Glasgow where they are more likely to sell out the SECC than risk coming up here to play to a 3/4 full AECC? Most of the mainstream acts I've seen in Aberdeen have been very well recieved.....
