  1. *ahem*... http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8815&highlight=rainbow
  2. Sounds good to me, but I can hear Kai and Bob firing up their 'sarcasm generator' right now. Brace yourself for some hilarious cross-posting...
  3. Sounds nice. Emma has a lovely voice, although she sounds like she's holding back a bit. I know it's just a guide vocal but it just felt a bit emotionless somehow, needs a bit more passion. I'd love to hear her really let fly... And there are a couple of little clashing notes in the solo I think, just little dissonances that I noticed at about 3.11, and 3.24. Not very noticeable, but thought I'd mention it. Very good though. Look forward to hearing the finished one.
  4. Ooh, but isn't that illegal? Public distribution of copyrighted material... we'll get into terrible trouble with the British Music Industry... *wrings hands*
  5. Big Eddie has 'shaped' lots of furniture in a way etc... I knew him pretty well too when I were a nipper, haven't seen him for years though. Is he still as big as he was? I seem to recall he lost a lot of weight, then put it back on again? I went to the music centre when it was in what is now the Academy Centre...

    JUKEBOX

I think you'll find they only play on one side...Tchuh...
  7. Supposedly he incurred Noel's wrath because he leaked the last album by giving a copy to an NME reporter. There was also something about him not turning up for rehearsals as well though. Zak Starkey seems a strange choice, musically, surely it must be just another symptom of the Gallagher's Beatles obsession? They'll be getting Julian in next...
  8. Yes. He's usually chained to his bench in the basement, but they let him up now and again so Mike can go for a fag.
  9. "Best drummer in the world? He wasn't even the best drummer in the Beatles..." Mind you, Sir Macca of Thumbsaloft is a twat. I honestly can't decide if he's good because he fitted in, or if the Beatles would have been better with someone more inventive. I'm veering towards the former though. A great band is always far greater than the sum of its parts, and they wouldn't have been the same band with anyone else. Yet part of me always wonders... So much for Noel doing all the drumming then, as he said he would when Whitey was fired. Wonder if he tried and failed, or if he was just mouthing off as usual?
  10. Take it to Neil (from out of Eric Euan) at Prosound Music, 96 Holburn St. 211311. http://www,prosoundmusic.co.uk
  11. When has a band ever split up because they know they can't do any better? I'd have thought every band always thinks their next album will be better than the last, don't they?
  12. Some interesting discussion here - http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8886 The download url on there still works too.
  13. Yes...Of course you did... *cough*
  14. Ian Kilmister if you're getting that specific... Middle name Fraser I seem to recall seeing Faster Pussycat at the Barrowlands, 1990 or 1991 I think. Fantastic.
  15. A somewhat rough version of Perfect World was battered out at the end of the evening. Surprised I still remembered it, but it was a hoot. #aye dye diddle aye, aye dye diddle aye#...
  16. Undoubtedly. It all started at this crossroads y'see... Funnily enough there was actually a mini reformation at the Open Mic last night, as another of the devil's tunes saw the light of day after many years. Took me by surprise as well.
  17. Me too. The grammar and spelling are terrible, and don't suggest a very professional organisation at all. I wouldn't touch it.
  18. Pardon? What is that doing in there? And go get the Queen is Dead if you don't already have it. Just get it.
  19. I am so very, very sorry, everyone. No idea how that logic follows, but obviously, had we known...

Re: Teething problems Ah... sister Laura?...
  21. The old third above is good, aye, but not just playing a third above each note of the melody. As long as you've got two of the notes from triad of the chord, or a passing note towards one, preferably avoiding an open fifth, it'll sound great. Especially if you can get the harmony line counterpointing above and also below the main melody. I'm a sucker for suspensions too. *drummer disguise blown* Ahem...I mean, I like heavy sticks...
  22. Supposedly Prince was supposed to be playing, but he wanted to film the whole performance for pay-per-view and wasn't allowed, so he's not doing it. And Madonna could well be playing, she's planning to tour this summer.
  23. Or phone Brucie Millers, or you'll get Neil at Prosound Music -211311, info@prosoundmusic.co.uk
