  1. MODERATOR!!! Maxwell's kicking off already!!!
  2. Funnily enough I'm listening to a VU 'best of' comp right now. Fantastic songs. 'Pale Blue Eyes', mmmm...
  3. So you're saying that everyone has different musical tastes to some degree, and all opinions are subjective yet equally valid? *entire Wasteland falls eerily silent and crumbles to dust*
  4. I like quite heavy sticks. Hope this helps.
  5. Sorry DDP, but I'll offer 20 for the Boss...
  6. Never said it was 'head hair'... Oof.o_O
  7. How dare you. I was out two nights last week, Toxik Ephex, then Real Shocks. Must have been 'Toxik Shock Syndrome'...4/10 I'll have you know I canzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

  9. Wasn't it Paul Gilbert that used a power drill with plectrums glued to it? Sure I heard the story of him doing that, then getting his hair caught up in it live on stage and having to be extracted by a roadie. None more Spinal Tap...
  10. Whoops. It appears I have just stood you up. Sorry. I'll swing in past as soon as I can.
  11. Yes. Now if only there was some sort of local establishment, preferably licensed, that we were both familiar with to serve as a meeting point...
  12. As long as it was well moderated I don't think it would be a problem. I've seen it work on other forums (fora?) so I choose to give our people the benefit of the doubt. There's not too many arseholes here really, and I think the benefits would easily outweigh the hassles. Maybe if people know to expect a bit of criticism in the designated area, it would result in less niggling in the Wasteland, as it would be more based on band members communicating, rather than band supporters winding each other up. The sense of a common benefit could just come into play? Worth a try at the very least, I say.
  13. Just thought I'd give the man behind the curtain a wee poke in the ribs about this one, as there has been some interesting discussion here Any more thoughts about it?
  14. That would really get annoying. Why not just keep him open in his own wee box in the corner of your screen? And should we have a limit on the size of signatures? Some of them are about half a page and are tiring out my wee scroll mouse...
  15. I have a naked acoustic guitar. Anyone got a decentish hard case I could take off their hands?
  16. Might sell you my Tama Granstar toms? 12", 13" and 16" floor, in good nick, sound great. Don't really want to, but I can't find a Granstar kick anywhere (mine got nicked), so may have to, to get a whole new kit. Make me an offer if you want.
  17. Never liked Paiste, they just never seemed very good quality. Must say I've never really tried Meinl, I imagine them to have a very distinctive sound though, do they? I'd take Sabians over Zildjians though, although Zildjians used to be the best around. Story goes that when old Pa Zildjian retired he left everything to his two sons. One of them got the name, and the other got the factory. So Zildjians are not as good as they were as they're made differently, but Sabians have all the old quality with a new name. That could be bollocks of course, but I think it's something like that. I remember seeing a Sabian 'Rocktagon' ages ago, a really heavy cymbal, octagon shaped. Anyone ever tried one?
  18. Thing is, drummers find typing very tricky. They get so far, then a certain word will give them a really cool rhythm and they get stsststtstsststtstsststtuckkstsststtstsststtstsstu Damn. Btw, two cymbals the same diameter can sound very different, due to other factors such as thickness etc. e.g. A 'light crash', a 'rock crash' and a crash-ride can be the same size and have a very different pitch. A crash-ride could be what you're looking for actually... Doesn't have to be an AAX either, or even Sabian, although they are about the most well-made you can get. Just go see Mike and try out as many as you can.
  19. You're not Sirius's manager by any chance, are you?
  20. No, no, no. This is cool...
  21. It was a good gig. Wonderboy were great, and certainly taught us a thing or two about between song banter... We had a laugh, and De Barros were amazing. Would really like to hear the full band sometime. Thanks also to the two dudes who made up the total non-band member crowd. Shame about the turnout. I think Wonderboy are a jinx...
  22. Go to Prosound Music on Holburn St. Mainly a drum shop, but I believe they've just poached Neil from Bruce Millers to do guitar repairs. They're a new company so will more than likely do you a good deal and good service. Just down from the Malt Mill. Phone 211311.
  23. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2368012241&category=622 I'm tempted...
