  1. I wonder if Part Chimp are brainy enough to be part of this very intelligent rock music scene or should they eat more oily fish?
  2. Out of interest - what are Knives like? Heavy gubbins or left field gubbins?
  3. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0LXENYHL - Rupture's set as MP3, or so they tell me...
  4. I vote for an Ipecac tour package playing @ Trip Tych next year...
  5. The Rupture one was studio recorded but as you suspected the other two are edited highlights from the Liverpool Peel celebration.
  6. Both gents (Jace and Miguel) have sets on The Breezeblock this week as does Drop The Lime, Dave http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/dance/breezeblock/tracklistings.shtml?focuswin
  7. strangely I have reviewed two from your list relatively recently*. I would also recommend Foundation Ska by The Skatalities. A double CD full of their hits.. Dave * PB & Specials
  8. Norwegian noise band plays at loud volume shocker - should this be an Evening Express headline? I had a sore head yesterday but only because of the alcohol consumed. My ears have been worse after a dance around in O'Neills. I enjoyed all the acts on Saturday - Noxagt are a great live band. Acid Mothers Temple meets MBV Loveless via The Melvins... The thow away 80s pop pastiche of Planning to Rock and Kevin split the audience but certainly put on a show. A strange aroma of Frank Zappa and Jason Forrest. Dave
  9. Skatalities vs The Selecter - I've seen both bands before and would much rather see the original rather than a two tone band. The Selecter are nice enough but... Now if only someone would book Horace Andy and Prince Buster. Dave
  10. it all depends on who is working behind the bar... This will make the Faust even more interesting now!! Dave
  11. Essentially the Norwegian economy is highly correlated with the oil price. The is the same as the micro economy of Aberdeen City. Norway has got a massive reserve fund as have the Saudi's but finds problems getting returns on the cash pile. Shetland have also built up a reserve fund in their own little way. I suppose high taxation of oil companies is easier when there are more nationalised energy companies over there. Nationalised companiesare subject to political interference' date=' government often has a board member or two et al. But I know some Norwegians who left the country because of the high taxation. Have a read of the links below. http://www.travelblog.org/World/no-econ.html http://www.bis.org/review/r050901h.pdf http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norway
  12. Well it would be the first time that the Weddoes have played the Music Hall since 1992 and all those singles got released.... I would phone One Up - they are the font all of knowledge, Dave
  13. well it canna be The Kitchen Cynics as they would drown out P Chimp...
  14. sounds like they have a similar ethos to Doorag - http://www.paceagency.de/acts/doorag/doorag.html
  15. Yep I got ticket no 5 or 6 yesterday. Wonder who is supporting. Opaque would be a nice support...
  16. Mono in Glasgow had all the SYR series in vinyl for 9 squids the last time I was down. Groucho's in Dundee had a couple of nice SY twelves the last time I was down and UnKnown Pleasures in St Andrews had a few SY bootlegs as well as do these guys - http://www.rhythmonline.co.uk/rarities.htm#s Dave
