  1. a) Why does it appeal to you? Well I listened to a lot of metal* and punk* in my teenage years, then heard lots of Jap noise stuff on Peel, then was into post rock, krautrock, minimalism, experimental gubbins et al so I suppose I like noise because of what I've listened to over the years. But I don't get a lot of noise tracks the first or second time around. But its the same with free jazz!! Maybe the effort required to listen to it attracts me? Or the pure escapism? b) Where/when do you listen to it? At home generally but attend noise gigs sometimes as well. * as I don't listen to punk / hardcore or metal anymore I suppose noise is my metal
  2. Give shows like The Breezeblock on R1 a listen. They plays loads of cool electronica. Apart from that subscribe to The Wire or borrow the free Cds that come with the mag from a mate. Apart from that have a look on various music blogs, where there are no end of recommendations... Dave

  11. Exp Music Shows - you were asking about new venues Bill. What about the Sea Cadets huts at Fitty or the Carillion, at St Nicholas Kirk? Both are very intersting places... Whats this about burning instruments on the Beach anyway?

  18. note to self - buy the two Dalek albums at some point in time rather than borrowing the first one from the library on random occasions...
  19. I was going to use something from the Dalek / Faust album but ran out of space. Mogwai have been on enough of my compilations overall.. I totally forgot about Aereogramme! Dave
