Interestingly I've liked all the Deadpool I've read except Deadpool Max as well which just seemed to lose the point of Deadpool for me, I've been enjoying Fantomex Max though, I'm enjoying the current night of the Living Deadpool run as well.

I really liked it, i thought it was the only way you could do something as iconic as Robocop was to totally change the focus of the script, this time onto the family of Murphy and the creator of Robocop which was touched upon in the original but not as much. I thought it had enough nice touches as tributes of the original, and much as I liked the original at the time, this one was done in a way for modern audiences, the Samuel L Jackson character was spot on with some of the Fox news type talk show hosts and it gave the whole thing an interesting view, I really liked it, they kept the music, the ED 209's and the occasional one liners (I just wish they had kept Lewis as a women as the strong female character that she was was missing a bit). I thought it was a decent update, you can't just remake a classic as it was it has to be doing something different, same as I quite liked the Total Recall update too.

It just seemed a really weird article, the bit about the girl who was writing to him seemed particularly strange, the whole problem seems to be in that he dared to write back and encourage her, there didn't seem to be anything untowards in his actions, he didn't say anything that I could see that was off, she wrote him letters and he found the time to reply, seems a bit of a weird thing to bringing up now as him being dodgy when he never made a move or said anything untowards.

The phrase "no smoke without fire" is such a dangerous one and one i have heard bandied about a lot in this case, of course there is smoke without fire, ask Chris Jeffries. Another worrying thing i have seen is people saying: "I never liked that Woody Allen, he always seemed a bit odd and looked funny" - ah well then he must be a pedophile if he looks like one and is a bit odd, stands to reason, it scares me that in this day and age people still think you can look at someone and that will tell you if they're a pedophile. I think where it comes to child abuse in particular then we seem to always err on the side of the accuser nowadays which isn't a bad thing, however in the case of Woody Allen this has been investigated and the majority decision was that Dylan was coached from Mia and couldn't tell fantasy from reality, and if there was any doubt in anyone's mind, contrary to the reports I'm reading, i don't believe for a second he would have been allowed to adopt his 2 daughters with Soon Yi. I find the whole thing very strange, i have little doubt Dylan believes this but I also believe this was something that was planted in her by Mia Farrow, who is as messed up as they come apparently. Even one of Mia's own kids has said that here was a lot of brainwashing going on at that time in that house and looking back they are very uncomfortable about some of the stuff she did. It's a tough one, and when Amanda Palmer posted the link to the Daily Beast I was shocked at the amount of people calling her a rape apologist etc, when all i saw it as was a different, but relevant viewpoint. I think that both sides of any story should be heard (she had posted Dylan Farrow's open letter first) and it doesn't make you an apologist if you question what someone has said in the interest of trying to see both sides.If it happened he should be punished to the full extents of the law, but first of all it has to be determined if it did happen, and until then both sides have to be explored in a way that causes the minimum of anxiety to both people.

I picked up a new car before Christmas, it looks a bit like this except with a UK reg. Basically a slightly newer version of the one i had, may not be the most exciting car in the world but it's diesel so it doesn't cost as much to run theoretically, it's got the nice things like dual air con, heated seats etc, cruise control so it's nice for the long journeys. It's the first time I've had an automatic and I'm still unsure but it was bought as my other half will only drive automatic and this ensures me a lift back from the pub. I really like it, but i loved the old one. It was also just about affordable which make all the difference !

I started watching Robocop 2 the other day,my god I had forgotten how terrible it was, in my head it wasn't too bad, but it was... I also remember quite enjoying Robocop 3, which was co-written by Miller. I love Frank Miller's stuff (well what i've read) , i especially like his take on Daredevil who is one of the consistently best written characters in the marvel universe, but then again when your past writers include frank miller, Brian Michael Bendis and the wonderful Ed Brubaker chances are you're doing OK. However everything I've read about Miller as a person leads me to believe he's an incredibly nasty piece of work which is a real pity, his comments about Occupy Wall Street were : "nothing but a pack of louts, thieves, and rapists".

I wonder what's changed in the viewpoint, I had been aware of liking him since 1995 but ironically i didn't get properly into him until I was trying to show my other half that he was better that Born in the USA which she hated and ironically it led to me listening to more of his stuff as i proved my point and I became a proper fan. but I wonder why the general attitude adjustment.

They've just done a comic version of the Defenders called The Kings Watch, it's the main characters without the annoying kids, it's really pretty good.

For a few years in the late 80's the BBC did some really brilliant kids book adaptations, there were the Narnia books, they did 2 5 Children and it stories, and the Phoenix and the carpet, and then they did the borrowers, they used to show them at Sunday Teatime in the lead up to Christmas, i think the first one they did may have been the Box of Delights, something we still watch every 2 or 3 years at Christmas. It's a shame the same effort isn't put into kids/family dramas as much now, these were always a great lead up to Christmas.

I was the same i made my other half watch it, and told her it was brilliant and she'd love it and then we watched it for the first time in probably 20 years, i think maybe it just jad good starting credits because the cartoon wasn't particularly good However what we did watch that was still awesome was:

I don't know, I first really heard his stuff about the time of Tom Joad when i was a student and i really liked that album, but I never got round to actually following up on that until the last 4 or 5 years. I do think that keyboard sound on Born in the USA put me off

I've always loved kids TV, have collections of it on DVD and when it's done well i think it's great. my favourite will always be the Smallfilms stuff like Bagpuss, the Clangers, Tottie, and Ivor the engine. Other favourites include: I loved, and still do love, Bagpuss, there's something about the animation and Oliver Postgate's voice that just make you think of childhood. Mysterious Cities of Gold - I remember this seemed to go on forever when i was young, loved it, very excited to see they've just done a second series 30 years on... must catch it up. The 80's were a great time for the epic episodic cartoons, I also loved Dogtanian, Ulysses 31 and Around the World with Willy Fogg. The Adventure Game - bizarre show but made cool by the Vortex - gronda, gronda your highness, the precursor to Crystal Maze along with the equally great Knightmare. Dungeons and Dragons - the 80's had some great cartoons that were purely designed to sell toys such as this, He-Man and Transformers. The adventures of Tom Sawyer - These used to be on at 5.05 until 5.30 and they would rotate with Heidi and The adventures of Huckleberry Finn, I still remember the start with the epic paddle steamer, oither things that were great at the time that shared this timeslot were Gentle Ben and Grange Hill (whose most memorable character in my era was played by an Aberdonian - ooh the glamour!) Dr Who - was a family show but I remember watching it from about 1980 onwards when i was 4, my first TV memory was Tom Baker falling off a telescope and becoming the Wet Vet. Eerie Indiana - This was a bit later but it had a style, i think it was an attempt to do a slightly surreal kids show in a Twin peaks style, amazing to think it was out 2 years before the X-files. There were so many great things in this time period, i haven't got started on let's Pretend, Chokablock, Captain Zap Space Detective, Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, Cheggers Plays Pop, Crackerjack and so many... Anyone else have fond memories of their favorites ?

Anyone else a fan ? He's an artist I've only come to appreciate over the past 4 or 5 years, i always liked things like the Ballad of Tom Joad and his acoucticcy things, but was slightly concerned most of his other stuff might sound like born in the USA, but over the past I've come to realise how rubbish that statement is and how great most of his stuff is. I've seen him twice in the last 18 months or so and i think he might be the only Stadium act i would go and see now. I tend to favour the aocustic stuff but my favourite album is probably the Seeger Sessions with the big band folk sound, slightly similar to what Bellowhead do, very good, i would love to see him do an album of originals utilising that style. I am quite enjoying the new album and love the new reworking of Tom Joad.

Decided to do it for the first time this year so just sent my list in, discovered that i was hampered as i just couldn't bring myself to put certain people on the list as i think they should live forever.

But why would you spend your whole life creating a massively secretive clandestine criminal network only to then throw yourself into the open just to get to Holmes, it makes no sense for someone so secretive and who Holmes didn't even know was behind every major crime for years would suddenly expose himself so publicly like that. As i said i don't mind if the character made any sense and he just didn't. The character of Sherlock is pretty similar, Watson is similar, and the feeling of many of the adventures is similar but the characterisation of Irene Adler and Moriarty are well off, i don't know anyone who is familiar with the books who think that the Moriarty character is even close to being a similar character. The show does keep to the spirit, those 2 bits of characterisation are wildly different - whereas the Charles Augustus Mangunsson character in this series was a brilliantly based contrivance from the original stories, it worked on every level as an update and to have him as a newspaper owner was a piece of genius. I wouldn't be pissed off about the Moriarty characterisation if it wasn't that in general everything else is pretty damn good. For example i can put up with the wildness of the Moriarty character in Elementary far better than in Sherlock because even though the backstory etc is so incredibly different the character does have some of the same characteristics.
