i dont have access to anythign myself, but i did notice maplins had a markerish pen that i think is for doodling pcb's yourself, it was about 15 i think, basically a marker but the ink is conductive might be worth looking into to see if ti would work at all David

nudge was created, annoyingly overused by those 'wacky' annoying people ot bug you or get you to pay attention to them, then disabled back to life as normal then David

Whats the general consensus on this as a band name...
David replied to threeornothing's topic in General Discussion
sounds like a disease David -
they are basically just effects pedals, albeit supposedly excellent sounding and very tweakable ones, with loads of options David

dead space is a good insulator hanging something like a heavy rug or carpet a few inches from teh walls all around to create a space of dead air around the room to help insulate the sound that is the theory for what they often do with professional studios and soundrooms, basically building a room inside a room so there is an insulating area of dead air all around it, using carpets or the like is basically a cheaper version David

cillit bang i crack up whenever i see it, mostly due to http://www.luckykazoo.com/media/2005/03/cillit-bang-remix.html David

i have a Marshall DSL401 which is a 40 watt 1x12 valve combo, it was more than loud enough for playing in kef, and should cope fine at somewhere like dr drakes (ie a small venue unmic'ed) basically anywhere that needs more volume than that can give you should definately have a pa if you are playing with a transister amp, 100watts+ should be fine, i used a Marshall AVT100 in drakes and it did fine David

the train was most amusing i thought the film was fucking excellent though... a few rather unbelieveable points (ignoring the invaded by aliens bit ) i was a bit annoyed to see robbie had survived at the end, considering he had followed the us army into what looked like armageddon, survived that, survived loads of the robots scouring that area (while they hid in the basement) then made it to boston safely after all that... it would have been a slightly cool twist of the normal happy ending for them to get the small girl home but for the son to have died (and a lot more believable in the context of the film) anyone els elike the resident evil scenes when they got to the hudson river? with all the people clambering allover the car like zombies (and the guy nicking his gun and killing the guy that took the car 8) ) David

A shit load of guitars...isn't this some guy from aberdeen?
David replied to threeornothing's topic in Musicians' Corner
all those guitars and not a tele in sight... does he have no taste at all? a few of the basses are left hand models, which seems slightly odd, shurely you would stick to playing either right or left handed and stay that way... David -
its a bit of both parties causing a fight, police presence will definately get protesters more worked up and likely to go off on one, but a police presence is pretty much essential at an event like that i am still amused that people seem to believe that anarchy is a good idea, they dont realise that if anarchy takes effect, there will be no police or law, so no one stopping criminals getting of with assults and thefts and anything else they feel like David

done its not too hard really, it just takes a little bit of playing about with definately easier to do onscreen than the versions of that game yuou got to do on paper in school... David

a petrol generator would be useless, the ones i have heard have all been rather loud 2 stroke engines, so would completely oblitterate you playing... something quiet enough for you to easily play over will be available somewhere, but to my knowledge normal ones are pretty noisey possibly something like car/golf cart batteries, i guess they would have a lot more power available than a couple of 9v's and are rechargable, though i think that normal car batteries run at 12v, might be an idea to look at though David

i cant really imagine drumming would be much good for busking in the first place, with guitar and the like buskers can play well known songs that people recognise, so people will donate money, with drums it will sound like some guy making a noise... not really recognisable songs as such (regardless of whether you can play beatles numbers beat for beat) David
-
check what power supply the drum module needs, if its 9v or similar it may be possible to bodge some batteries together, though how long they would last i dunno... you can get small battery powered amps that should do the job ampwise David

luckily only a bloody nose after getting smacked in the face (someone headbutted me accidentally when getting shoved out of a pit) didnt hurt in teh slightest though, just lots of blood David

(actually I cheated, I am not really in Radiohead) David

i basically ignored them, not being a big enough personality here to warrant much attention apart from od posting (and probably mostly in the musicians forum anyway) i do remember getting a scene point for helping someone with a question in the musicians forum and also minus one for apparently having the same avatar for far too long, i like it dammit, and i will keep it as long as i like amusing while it lasted, but like usuall, taken faar too seriously by some... if a fuse blows, i wouldnt worry straight away, first replace it with a new fuse (make sure its the same ratings) if it works then cool, fuses blow sometimes, if it blows again take it to a tech David

i preferred watching starwars with the volume cranked up David

i wouldnt like to be on the recieving end of a fender strat swung at my head, though since they are rather unweildy weapons, it would probably be easy enough to dodge... an AK47 on the other hand you dont really have much chance against, depending of course whether it has bullets in it, or alternatively a knife stuck to the end being stabbed in your direction AK47s dont sound as good through a cranked marshall though David

it depends where the trees are and how annoying they are to people living near you... the council chopped down a couple of trees next to my house which was great, as otherwise they blocked out the sun for most of the afternoon... so its quite likely someone asked them to do it before they would bother tree's are excellent, but there are more than enough around my house (i live right at the edge of town) that a few missing wont make too much of a difference, especially when they were taken down for a reason David

i have checked in cash converters before about selling pedals, and they give you basically fuck all for them (then go on to sell for an almost new price...) ebay or some other classified ads (newspapaer/scot ads, wanted/fore sale here, etc...) are definately the way to go David

i think theres a diy guide to making a talkbox at www.generalguitargadgets.com electronicsally very simplae to make, though getting enclosures and everything could take a while David

brilliant movie and vincent is great too unfortunately i will probably have to give my friend back her copy sometime soon, therefore i will be forced to buy my own (then i can get a uk version, not us like hers and actually watch it on my tv, and not just the computer, woot) David

if you were happy enough with the toms recording, how about doing it again, but getting some extra time for better recording/mixing? David
