Convolution reverb is the way to go for this! Theres a free convolution reverb VST out there (maybe a few' date=' but can't remember what they are) and plenty of free impulse responses, everything from the norm to the total bizarre, impulse responses of pipes, people's mouths, garbage cans, kids echo mics, etc.. up to opera houses, stadiums, famed recording studios, it's very believable aswell, the cleaner your signal (ie. close mic'd as possible) the better it can work.... Check it out though, no more fizzy guitars! I use it just for playing along at home sitting with headphones sounding like you're ripping it up in the Albert Hall...

It's funny, there are people who give away pianos for free out of the kindness of their heart and they are really hoping that the piano will be pleasently enjoyed by someone else in the same way they used to enjoy it, as they hated seeing the thing sitting gathering dust. Its a tough decision to make, but they know deep down that if someone else gets the benefit of it, it's a fair trade. That site is awful, most the songs I've looked up on it are pretty vague and open to interpretation, but the people who post on it really are the dumbest of the dumbest....but there is the odd person who picks up things that you were thinking, and then gets shot down, but its cool to know that someone else was on the same wavelength. The best songs have no specific meaning and are written to intentionally create such madness, a la "I am the Walrus"...thank fuck everyone on the site realises this aswell!

Surely in the age of the internet, tutors are redundant. I picked up a keyboard at the start of the year and am getting on ok. I had piano lessons when I was very young and it was the most boring thing I've ever done, and I've watched paint dry!

Did you go for this? I love the look of the kontrol 49 (like the microkontrol 49, but with full size keys) I'd have to sell most my rig to pay for it but it looks like it could replace most of it....if it was an ASIO compatible audio interface aswell at the same price it would be the dogs doo-da's....but yeah...they look great, and there are lots of preset patches for most of the software/plugins out there, so a good investment I would imagine, helping you free yourself from your mouse.
