allstardawn
i love it because it gives me an excuse to eat too much, drink too much and spend too much. oh and the tinsel. you have to love the tinsel. unless it's that cheapo stuff which makes you itch (NOT that i wear tinsel of anything..)but it means that january is soon. and january is the most depressing month of the year. humbuggery

PaulDW
I have to admit Im someone who has a soft spot for the festive season... Not for any aprticular reason. Although in my opinion we are stilla few weeks away from the 'real' festive season...Boy... dont Xmas get earlier and earlier every year? Rass
What a heap of arse....I'm not religeous by a long shot, but its savage how little the holiday has to do with that whole birth scene two thousand years ago and how it is all about high street stores cashing in, what a joke. I am basically avoiding christmas like the plauge this year, it means absolutely nothing to me now, it means about as much to me as Hanukka does, and i dont celebrate that so why should i celebrate christmas? Its only ever been family time of year to me so i'll be spending the day with my folks.Incidentally, i really think something should be done about high street stores putting up thier christmas decor so early, they were going up before halloween this year! I recon christmas should start at the beginning of December at the earliest as far as shops and telly goes.Mind you, what would you expect from a holiday whose father-figure was clothed by a soft drinks giant? Invisible Lead Soup
I actually care about Christmas SO much that I've volunteered to work 14 hours on Christmas day. Triple time.

Tav
We've had christmas stock in since october I am sure. The christmas music tape must have been on for 3 weeks already. I am with Rass on this one. I am pretty sure everyones forgotten what its about and now its a big cash in for everyone.
Guest HARRY
I dont care about what its about, because it is a ridiculous fictional character's birthday we are supposed to celebrate. So what would be different if we worshipped Mike and Angelo instead? As long as i get presents and alcohol I couldnt care less
Mo-Ha
i second Rass and Tav, its not about what it should be, Jesus. i'm totaly not religiouse too but it's sad to see that it's all about money.this year if i am goin gto bother going to the trouble of giving anyone a gift it will be bough after x-mas in the sales.alternitivly, ashleigh and myself will have a whole drunken weekend of making pepermint creams! thoughtfull, from the heart, and damb good fun too make. Guest Jake Wifebeater
Christmas=rampant unquestioning consumerism. Fuck it. There's something that just isn't right about parents getting their kids to sit on a stranger's knee, and then he gives them presents for being "good". lindeh
i've just realised how much of a christmas-loving person i am after reading the posts of you cheery lot! true, stores tend to rake in the money around this time of year - that's the thing about businesses though, they see opportunity to make money, so they take it! (just like those who work christmas day because they can get triple time ) fair enough, christmas isn't what it used to be - although if the effort isn't made, what can you expect? i love christmas time, i love being able to buy presents for everyone i love, having snowball fights and eating turkey with my family. ok... am i sad? delboy
Hehe' date=' shake the moths outta the old red jacket, and get the peroxide cotton wool beard on.......[/quote']Ho ho ho (just getting in some practise). actually i dont mind xmas, but the commercialisation of it gets worse every year, i mean you end up getting sick of it and there's still a month to go! so i let it all pass over me head, work hard, earn money then go to sleep for a couple of months.... Rass
incidentally, im sure i heard from somewhere that christmas started so early the sales might be before the big day this year.... of course this could be bullshit.... Tav
It's kind of like Christmas has been hijaked...regardless of wether you are a Christian or not you must see that....well I mean the fact your celebrating Christmas and not a Christian would surely show that it's no longer about what it used to be? delboy
is it not about trying to get more drunk than last year?

Guest Scorge Spike
I'm fucking fed up of the shit already, I saw a choir in the Trinity Centre last bloody week! It's not even St Andrews Day yet! Cunts. I can already hear the seasonal ditties being blasted out of the shop radios already, only a matter of time before the unholy sounds of Ray Wood and Noddy Holder penetrate my reluctant ear drums.(I think Neil should change my name to Scrooge Spike in the run up to the 25th. Yes.)
