N.M
there were a group of girls jumping up and down grabbing me and trying to get me to join in during Cathedral (I was FAR too busy doing some slow "doom" headbanging to take part)How fucking cool is doom head banging. Especially if you can get the room to do it properly - doesn't happen that often for myself being pointlessly tall.Oh, even better, Doom headbanging at drakes, right next to the band. I almost headbutted the guitars of Stand-up Guy on numerous ocassions the last time they played up here. Fucking class!

spellchecker
Jeebus' date=' Cathedral were incredibly crap!HIM were pretty enjoyable once you could actually hear the vocals...I knew I should have turned up later![/quote']thank fuck ... saves me posting the "Am i the only one that thought Cathedral were the biggest hunk of fucking shit ever tonight" thread.thought the vocals were quite odd at the start too, but we moved to the centre of the hall and they started sounding better. lost all the bass though.i was escorting ma wee cousin to see HIM, who i wouldn't have paid to seen on my own, but they were still enjoyable and way better than Cathedral, without any imagination stretching. psydoll
Disappointing. Cathedral were ace but HIM sounded way too muddy and just weren't as good as I've seen them before. Most let-down I've felt at a gig all year after N*E*R*D and Faithless at T In The Park. How can the sound be so rubbiss after hearing blistering sharp sets from Public Enemy and Placebo there? Cameroon
Personally i think cathedral are the biggest heap of shit(e) that i have ever seen. They were so boring, dull and depressing. Most songs sounded exactly the same with no energy. But thats just my opinion.Him were on top form, although the setlist could have been better, siguli diaboli should have made an apperance. Soul on fire was undoubtly the highlight for me, gotta love that drums at the start.

Cathedral frontman Lee Dorain: Jumping up and down screaming "come on" all the time and doing his classic Hippy dance that he has been doing for yearsThe "guy" (I mean that loosely) from HIM: Boring....the mumbled "thanks" then fucked offOh and if anybody knows the guy standing behind me who said HIM were like metallica....kick him repeatedly

Cameroon
I can appreciate your love for cathedral but they dont do anything for me. I was there for him and i think the support band was very unappropriate. Ok the guy had sum energy and ville valo doesnt exactly run about stage, but him arent about that and never have been. Being a him fan aint that bad!

Being a him fan aint that bad![/quote']They might well have been inappropriate but I thought the crowd got into them a lot more than I expected them to I must admit. Was pleasing to see quite a few hands in the air for 'Witchfinder General' at least Ville loves his older metal hence Cathedral benefitting from HIM's increased profile. Hell if one person goes and buys a Cathedral record after that then cool, cool. I wonder if Ville's seen Cathedral before - that'd be ace:"Hmmmm I've never seen Cathedral before - do we have a support for our UK tour yet?""No I don't think we do Ville."*Books and sees said band every night of tour*

Being a him fan aint that bad![/quote']Considering Ville wears a Carcass T-shirt, the drummer is permently wearing Morbid Angel T-shirts and various members have death metal side projects i dont find Cathedral inappropriate at all.But being a HIM fan im sure you'd have noticed there extreme metal tendencies, infact i find it hard to believe they play the music they do
