Ian_Brown
Apologies if a thread already exists. So is anyone else going to see the legend next Monday? Does anyone know who the support act is by the way? Heard it's reverend and the makers, whoever the hell they are.
Rob
i'm going. support is definitely not reverend and the makers. not sure who is though
Lemonade
I liked the Roses but not so keen on his solo stuff, plus he's shocking live. I'm giving it a wide berth.
Ian_Brown
Yeah it's not Reverend and the makers. I just listented to them and they sound awful so it's not the end of the world Shocking live? Hmmm
Lemonade
Yeah it's not Reverend and the makers. I just listented to them and they sound awful so it's not the end of the world I liked their first song, (the one about the Heavyweight Champion of the World) but their second was so annoying it undid all their good work! (the one with the cockney woman singing in the chorus)

Guest bluesxman
I'm a big fan of Ian Brown and been to see him a few times, while he was great at the Barrowlands and Music Hall, he was definitely shocking the last time he played the AECC. TITP earlier that year was rank as well.
french_disko
i'm going.... slight trepadation as usual as to how it'll be like. Seen him 7 times before and it's never been short of incident or bad singing.
Bigsby
I saw him last time at the AECC, I had a good time, possibly helped by the fact that I had free tickets and also access to a free bar. There's no doubt though that Ian Brown just can't sing live. I imagine it's a nightmare in the studio as well, god knows how many takes they have to do before they can splice one together that's actually in tune. Pierre Von Mondragon
I hear that if is a foggy night then a feed will be taken from the vocal channel on the mixing desk, patched into the harbour system, and relayed to avoid shipping accidents. french_disko
You realise that at AECC there was major sound problems for nearly the whole gig.every gig he plays there are "major sound problems" - none of which are helped by his instistance on not wearing earphones on stage for playback and to route his vocals LOUDLY through the on-stage monitors (hence the feedback).
