what did everyone think last night at drakes? they sounded pretty sweet for their first gig. pity fliks mic was off though. not really my taste but they had a couple of cathy songs.

stml were great. good strong rock. i liked.

was a good night and was my favourite gig for femora so far.

great stuff

being honest, Femora will start to kick serious ass with the more gigs played (the whole chugga chugga chugga aspect is coming through now), STML reminded me heavily of QOTSA, and what's more - they pulled it off, and Radio Lucifer were just damned good full stop, I've never seen so much style :D

The sound was rubbish but was impressed by all three bands.

Femora - Not that tight but I dont think they have had that many gigs. Vocalist was impressive. Great potential there.

STML - I thought they were ace. Kinda of like a more poppy spiritual beggars, fucking awesome. Minor point: the guitarist should have kept his top on, it didn't look cool!

Radio Lucifer - Good but were let down big style by the sound. Couldn't hear any of the riffs that well. Lots of snarling and riffage.

Pretty pissed off about Deadloss not playing, not seen them in ages.

Aye the guitarist didnt have the most beautiful body lol

Well, Femora- Fucking ace full stop!

STML- I bet Johnny Lucifer liked them....quite like old Manic Street Preachers. The drummer had a weird style, the singer was ace, the guitarist had crap solos and should of kept the top on, the bassist was ginger

Radio Lucifer-Pure rock n roll attitude. The sound problems were no problem they played on and gave it full blast. The bassist is Johnny Depp! Well done on your first gig guys..kick ass!

Sidca- As always, underrated arty drunken noisyness. Shame it was a shorter set than usual. One truly unique band

Gonga- Good bluesy sludge in the vain of Cathedral. I really enjoyed their set although I got a bit bored of it by encore time.

Thank you friends, hog - you're right, I thought STML were brilliant; their bassist looked like Paulscoconut ass!

I thought Femora suffered from a shonky sound as well, but was surprised by Crocker's voice - big lungs for a wee man. My only major criticism would be the guitar player that isn't Sye's appalling guitar sound. Time for a new amp IMO.

Hehe, that was quite uncanny!

I enjoyed the gig, Femora have improved heaps since the last time I saw them (which was their debut, so that's expected, yes.) But I still got bored at times.

I'd seen STML before at Drummonds (they thought nobody had, ah ha!) I didn't enjoy them much then, or now, but I like the singer's voice.

And Radio Lucifer... bloody hell, how was that for a debut gig?! But they obviously have the advantage of experience already and I didn't see much nerves... It was an exciting set to watch, and like Crocker said, plenty of catchiness.

Good-good, no one noticed we were shitting it! It may surprise you to know that James puked twice before going on, and I puked afterwards. Rock and roll indeed!

Radio Lucifer were much heavier than i expected, dont know if this was supposed to be or just unballanced sound, they rocked and they rolled but i feel some of the songs kinda merged together. I recall flik and james souting catchy parts for the chorus of one of the songs - to me, that was one of the better parts of the set. The guitar riffs were good and punchy, the bass and drums worked well together and the singing had a broader range than my preconceptions (some very low talking parts through to full on screamning).

Overall - a very good debut gig, although the standards were high due to the experience factor. Like i said, some of the songs (to me anyway) did kinda fuse together, but it might just take me a few more viewings to get into the lucifer sound. I was expecting some full on dirty rock 'n' roll.... I'd recomend RL to anyone that likes Heavy Rock.

Radio Lucifer and a band that sounds like old Manics.

If I don't make it to the next RL gig, I will be deeply annoyed.

Well, our next show is with Rat Daddy, if that means anything to ya - it should, you'll Rat Daddy, they're awesome. We play with them on Friday 9th July at Dr Drakes.

EDIT: We'll have promo samplers to give away at the gig.

We were always aiming to be heavier (and poppier) the PaGG, the merging together of tunes will be less apparent as we get tighter.

I'd recomend RL to anyone that likes Heavy Rock.

Thank you Paul and Your Coconut Ass

Disappointed I missed Radio Lucifer - but it was my mums birthday and felt obliged to babysit my sister while she went out and celebrated. Sounds like you were a big hit though, glad you debut went so well. Definetly be coming to the next one! If not just to see you guys but also the brilliance of RatDaddy!
