For fans of Sigur Ros, Aggaloch etc.

I was just about to start a new thread about discovering this band and thought I'd so a search first.

Fuck me, this band are good. I wouldn't say they have a lot in common with Sigur Ros though, they sound more like a heavier Slowdive for my money.

Epic, dark and brooding shoegaze. Not pansy-ass shoegaze.

That said, I love pansy-ass shoegaze.

Not too blown away by them. I suppose i'd have to hear a full album first before making a better judgement.

The postrockbynumbers bands that i've really latched onto this year are...

Hammock

Six Parts Seven

Saxon Shore

Immanu El

Ef

Lights Out Asia

Giants

Sonna

Sweek

A few post-rock bands I would highly recommend:

Explosions in the Sky

God is an Astronaut

The Evpatoria Report (who have just gone on hiatus or something )

I love a lot of Explosions in the Sky stuff. It's a lot to do with my getting into PG Lost actually, who're a bit heavier, which i like.

I'm going to get to checking out the other bands mentioned in this thread.

They're decent, hadn't heard anything since the "le secret" ep. That was a lot more black metal if i remember right. More my kind of thing.

Check out Lymbyc System if you haven't done so already. They have a split EP with TWDY and I now prefer their songs on it

I too say 'This Will Destroy You'. Some additional electronica mixed in for good measure.

Labradford one of my fave bands and helped me write my dissertations:up:
