Lemonade
I've only heard a few of his / their songs but the ones I've heard I've really liked (song for the dumped, jesusland etc,). I've browsed in HMV and found heaps of albums, and I'd like to pick up one or two. Any recommendations of which are the best ones?ThanksB.E. Old Gold
My girlfriend is a huge fan and forced me to buy Rockin' the Suburbs, so I'd recommend that. It's got a couple of great tracks. Apart from that, you should get the album with 'Army' on it, as it's a fucking fantastic song (look for the myspace session version on youtube, complete with guitarchestra).Fopp has most of his albums for a fiver come to mention it, so you can't really go wrong. The Ghost Of Fudge
buy the first one. it's got a yellow cover, i think it's a 'self-titled' type deal. it's amazing.(jackson cannery, julie-anne, boxing, underground, etc)
Metarie
I have no idea what album it's on but there's a song called 'Kate' which is ace. Not least because that's my name and I like to think it's about me

Shaki
He's one of my favourite artists, listening to Whatever and Ever....amen at the moment. A lot of people object to the whiney southern accent but if you can hack that he's a good investment. Haven't been as keen on his latter solo stuff, I prefer the Ben Folds 5 albums. In order of goodness:Whatever and ever AmenThe Unauthorised Biography of Reinhold Messner (the one with "Army" on it) Ben Folds Five Naked Baby Photos (B sides and "rarities". Some amusing live stuff, some belters such as "Bad Idea", "Eddie Walker" and "Tom and Mary")They're all top though. There's always good quirky B sides on his singles too like the Japanese version of Song for The Dumped on the Brick single. Rocking the Suburbs is his best solo one and highly recommended too. "Let me tell y'all what it's like, being male, middle class and white". Speaks to me man.....

Lemonade
Cheers guys, I'll pop down to Fopp at the weekend and see what I can pick up... or if I'm feeling lazy I'll just fire up itunes. On the subject of all things "whiney southern", does anyone know when the new Bright Eyes album comes out? I hear it's a belter, according to that great musical institution The Daily Mail (it's the only English paper you can get in Switzerland, OK?!) it's "guaranteed to propel Oberst into the mainstream". Old Gold
New Bright Eyes is out on the 9th. I've also heard good things... so if Four Winds is anything to go by, it's gonna be a shit hot progression from I'm Wide Awake It's Morning. Shaki
Rockin' the Suburbs... just like Michael Jackson did?Rockin the Tunnels, just like Jill Jackson did. Funnily I just put Ben Folds into last.fm and the first track that came up in the suggestions was a Bright Eyes one.

Porter
Ben Folds Live is a great album. It's got all the hits and really shows the musician that he is. Bright Eyes album is indeed out on the 9th and looks to be fantastic. Heard a few of the new tracks online and it really sounds great. xxx
Spoonie
Whatever and Ever Amen is an album I rediscovered recently. Dude's got skills. Rockin' the suburbs is alright and pretty much worth a fiver for the title track alone! /x
