Guest tv tanned
Good to see U2 aren't in it for the money.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/4619574.stm
TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
Students could buy tickets for half-price, but the cheapest full-price ticket was 200 reais (50, $88) - about two-thirds of Brazil's minimum monthly wage. The show was marketed through a tie-up with the Pao de Acucar supermarket chain, which sold tickets through 10 Sao Paolo outlets and two in Rio de Janeiro. Angry fans shouted slogans against the chain's president Abilio Diniz, saying in future they would shop at a rival chain. 50 a ticket? Tie in with a supermarket!?!Glad to see the Brazilian fans taking it out on the supermarket president rather than U2!
AKMartin
Why do people pay 50 to see U2? Unbelievable. How can they possibly claim that that's anything except greed?AKM
Camie
Ah well im sure they will benefit and use the money for yet another campaign to try and make Bono look like he cares.

ca_gere
Why is it that this man is everywhere yet I haven't heard him sing in years? How has he become a spokesperson for all the injustices in the world and what makes him so qualified? He wrote this piece of pap for the NY times in which he brings up Child Porn and the Chinese Government to prove a point about File-sharing.Then I saw on another site that some wifie wrote a good article highlighting the hypocrisy of the man...Bono's "One" Ignorant Idea | Public KnowledgeIt just annoys me how succesful musicians are inexplicably bestowed with this voice of authority that is completely unmerited.I remember seeing Darius 'feelin blue' Danesh on a BBC3 show years ago and they asked him about some political situation and his response was something to the effect "It's dangerous to let someone like me comment on things like that," and he went on about how celebrities should stick to what they are qualified for. Top man. If a little cheesy.Darius > Bono
jester1470
Why is it that this man is everywhere yet I haven't heard him sing in years?Whereas I agree with a lot of what you say, just because you havent heard him sing in years doesnt mean U2 haven't been putting stuff out - and to big audiences, their last album "No Line on the Horizon", the album sold millions and was number one in most of the big territories, UK, US, Canada, Italy, Germany, Autralia etc.Musically I don't mind some U2 but I do wish Bono would stop trying to make himself the saviour of everything when as a band they have been well know to do whatever it takes for the maximum profit. Strange that only 4 years ago, there was talk about how expensive 50 was a gig and how ridiculous it was, and yet any stadium gig would cost that or more nowadays with madonna charging over 100 for some of her tickets. Monster Zero
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that U2 were losing money or barely breaking even on the last tour as they had spent so much cash on it being a spectacle for the fans....I'll always have a soft spot for U2, I just choose to blot out the less agreeable aspects of Boner....
