  1. This sounds slightly awesome! may have to try and get a team of friends together for this een.
  2. I'd go into jessops an ask to have a play around with some cams if i was you... i had a quick look on their website, and for under a hundred quid theese 2 stand out the most: http://www.jessops.com/online.store/categories/Digital%20Compact%20Cameras/products/Fujifilm/Finepix%20J210W%20Digital%20Camera%20-%20Silver-75945/Show.html 28-140mm equivelent zoom, 10mp face regognition ect. Canon Powershot A480 Digital Camera - Silver - Jessops 10mp, face detection, 3.3x optical zoom (so slightly less than the fuji, it works out at 5x) and has a 1cm super macro setting, so brilliant if you like taking pictures of tiny things. hope that helps a wee bit:up:
  3. In complete honesty id suggest getting her to read some online tutorials and i know a few of the photography mags have some good articles for beginners, but photography is a very inivitual thing, picking up how to work the camera and settings ect. isnt too hard, but i strongly advice trying things out the good old fashione trial and error way yourself to learn what settings to use and when, and all SLR's have an automatic setting anyway... i like to think of it as a safety net. I can strongly recomend canon myself, i've always used them and have had a 300d 350d 400d 450d 40d 5d and 5dm2 and a vast array of lens's and have loved them all. Sticking to canon or nikon will make things cheaper in the long run, as lots of companies like sigma and tamrom make a vast array of cheaper lens's for both.
  4. I completley agree, you may even be able to pick up a 300d on ebay for around the 200 quid mark surely? although a dated camera now, ive still got my old one kicking about somewhere, with a 50mm f1.8 on it the thing took amazing pictures! And even brand new, you can get the 50mm f1.8 for under 80 quid if you shop around online! I think this photo shows how awesome the combo of 300d and 50mm f1.8 can be in very low light situations, its a picture from a very dull night in moshulu:
  5. Saosin were a band id heardd only a few times before the show, but really like what i hear, their live show instantly shot them upto one of my favorite bands, completley brilliant band! and i think you are right about the Alexisonfire thing, i didnt see them in ABC but ive seen them a few times bfore and after that show, and they were 10x better, i ddont think moshulu really suited them well as a venue TBH
  6. I was at all of theese gigs asfar as memory serves, i didnt realise quite how lucky we were to have thoose kinda gigs up here untill they stopped happening... bring back 05'

    Audiobooks

i have used them a fair bit in the past, i used to get really bad migranes when i read for long periods of time, but i get so engrosed in the book i had to keep reading, Audiobooks solved this problem! Stephen Fry reading harry potter is actually pretty good, got the first few ones from the library a fair few years back now.
  14. Risotto is one of my favorite foods, but i have never once managed to make it as tasty as the risotto at my old work was. First time i made it was with a mate when we were hungover/still pissed in the morning, 2 packets of risotto, whole bottle of white wine, shalotts, mushrooms and heaps of parmesan, was the dogs bollocks for a hangover cure, but we were eating it for about 5 days we made so much.
  15. I'll take it off yah! pm me if its still avaliable and we can arange something
  16. String she pulled still gets a regular playing on the i-pod when im out for a jog, that song is brilliant
  17. Holy fuck, ive been looking for some cool old abanoned buildings for a photography project... shall definatley check theese out..! any more places like this that anyone knows of?
  18. priory is 2 for one on sundays now... wednesdays in liquid upstairs at cheesy is pretty good, but i think theyve stoppe that till uni/college kids get back. korova is a good shout, but its got more of a bar feel to it than a club, and if its busy it can take forever to get served in the upstairs bar (the only one open as far as im aware) and all the seats are usually taken. exo is still pretty good, but seems to be REALLY quiet latley. Im not sure how late the bobbin is open, but its usually a good night out, bit more relaxed than the clubs, but the video jukebox is pretty good, and the booze is pretty cheap.
  19. Korova: pints of Tennants & Strongbow 2.20ish anytime with a korova card, avaliable for a quid behing the bar. Korova on friday nights, 2 pints, 2 coronas, 2 spirit and mix (most mainline spirits), 1.70 jagerbombs, 1.20 jager shots in the club downstairs
  20. Turning 13 and point of origin back... what next, liberwish?
  21. cunt was my nickname for a while, shortened from i think "that poofy cunt" during my time at ellon academy, what lovley people go there! Got called ritalin kid by all the drummonds staff for years... still do by some of them. Circus boy/Unicycle boy was used a lot when i was younger, because i used to o a lot of juggling and unicycling back then.
  22. aye, office temping is an absolute piece of piss, i did it over summer when i was still in education. As long as you have pretty good typing skills, and can use all the usual programs (word, exel ect.) you will be fine, Moneys usually pretty goo too, compared to retail
