  1. Good call. I loved The Fountain and also Pi. But this one has Mickey in it! Can it possibly go wrong? No. No it can't.
  2. Nooooooooooooooo! The worst CGI I have seen in a long time. Why did they call it "I Am Legend" when they basically raped the book and left it for dead without even including the titular phrase or any of the books key concepts? They should have just called it "Generic Sub-Standard CGI/Will Smith Project" (See: Wild Wild West, Men in Black, Men in Black 2, Independence Day, Hancock, I, Robot etc).
  3. Yeah Moorings has a crisp and beefy sound and no mistake. Hmmm, I'm hungry. Uh, yeah I voted The Lemon Tree because of the great sound, the perfect level of volume they employ and also for the way they cater to make bands feel "like proper bands" with small perks etc. All in all they are the most professional.
  4. We would like to play aswell. Is there an award we could win on the night like... The most utterly neglected group award? Or laziest group? There should be a best deceased band award; in line with the enormous number of bands that split up this year.
  5. I've put up a track called "The Comedy Club" from our old EP onto our myspace page for your consideration. We recorded it really quickly as it was written as we were in the studio and as a result it is quite bare. It sounds a bit dated already, but I still really like the bassline on it. Listen and judge. 6. Are you joking? I've been dismembering, decapitating and generally blowing the bollocks off every zombie I see! Though I only play on PC so I have way more detail than the 360 version. Can't wait for the full game to play as infected. Have you seen the trailer for the cornfield & forest map? Genius.
  7. I felt pretty dirty after watching the film also.
  8. I won't say I hated this film, but I was very let down. I can't believe I'm hearing that most of you liked it! Denial? I just thought it was a mess of a film. I was quite impressed with Casino Royale, but this wasn't anything similar. I have been arguing most of the week (I am a massive Bond fan) that the Bourne comparisons are weak, but after sitting through the first shaky cam ridden hour of the film, I can argue no more. The worst thing is the action sequences don't convey any action! I can actually see how Bourne kills someone, whereas half of the time Bond is obscured by a fast panning shot, multi-edited to make sure I don't know what the hell is going on. Simply weak, but I still love Daniel - he just didn't have anything to work with this time. 5.5/10 for me.
  9. Are you ... sane? The Day After Tomorrow? Really? I mean... really?
  10. Actually the radio is crying out for that sort of stuff, everyone else is just doing generic eclectic "I know of lots of genres don't you know" shows. A good jazz hour, folk hour, techno hour thing would be much more pro.
  11. Hey - there are plenty of good reviews of The Mill for Niall to enjoy, I am simply being honest about my own experience with the studio. I heard nothing but great reviews of The Mill, which is why I chose to try it out and invested 1500 pounds into a bunch of recordings which I was very disappointed with. I'm merely telling my side.
  12. Go for it son. Considering I got an extra day of mixing free of charge after explaining my utter disgust at the extortionate price of said tea and biscuits/recording (and especially after his equipment broke down for 45 paid minutes...TWICE!), I'm not sure he would be in the best standing to dispute my case. But I have still retained the receipts if his soon-to-be-skint bass player fancies a loss in court?
  13. Wtached a couple recently. I've been playing Rome:Total War lately which probably inspired me to watch the simply dire "Epic", Gladiator. Utterly lame. Not even saved by Ollie. Then (In the same evening - I was house-sitting and basically raided the DVD collection...) I watched Munich. An entirely wasted evening. Not too long ago I watched American Psycho which I quite enjoyed though, despite not really liking Bale - he was great in this (the acting in the scene where he was crying to his lawyer on the phone was amazing) and the pacing of the film was perfect - a bit like a sterile Taxi Driver. I haven't really seen a great film since There Will Be Blood. Actually - did anyone see Wall-E?
  14. The first post mentions PES more times than FIFA! To be honest I got a real giggle out of Pro Evo players being described by definition as "snobs" - most of my sessions on any computer game tend to be sleep deprived, drunken affairs filled with poor one liners and pithy glib remarks and corny taunts (and thats just when I play alone). I can't really be snobby about that. But I can and will be snobby about Pro Evo being MILES fucking better than stinking FIFA.
  15. No, never did - We haven't really got anything worth recording just now. His sound was pretty lush though as I recall. He did the Kenetic E.P. right?
  16. I wouldn't worry too much about being converted, unless you like hollow, half-made games.
  17. Generous? Ha! The Mill is an absolute rip off and Neil is WAAAAY out of touch with modern recording techniques (and fucking slow at doing anything). He is a man who is all too conscious about his 30 quid hourly charge and takes an age to work his outdated equipment, which he does inbetween day long tea breaks and tedious stories. I had to tell him to hurry the fuck up a lot. A lot. So in conclusion - don't go to The Mill unless you happen to like REALLY expensive tea and biscuits.

  19. I'm in Munich and have been living like a goddamn king! I've been having leisurely drinks everyday, I've been to the museum twice, eating awesome food and sparing no expense. And I'm going to the Zoo tomorrow!
