  1. El President, from the afformentioned album. Superb song. I recently discovered Drugstore are still on the go.
  2. Funnily enough spent most of the weekend digging out old CD's I bought and forgot about. A few listed below: Drugstore - White Magic For lovers The Delgados - The Great Eastern Longpigs - The Sun Is Often Out (not really a re-discovery as I listen to it a lot anyway but gets a mention for being a cracker) Strangelove - Love And Other Demons Pavement - Crooked Rain Crooked Rain Eugenius - Oomalama
  3. Pretty sure that is what Burley will go for. Maloney in for Faddy but reckon it will be more defensive with a 4-5-1 than a 4-3-3, Steven Fletcher could make way as well if he goes with that formation. Wasn't too convinced by Alexander against Macedonia but think he'll play and could be an important player as the defence will need a bit more protection.
  4. I think it is taken into account that we are in a five team group instead of the other groups having teams. Not overly sure how it is worked out mind you and the fact is we still have to beat the Dutch!
  5. I guess all blokes give it a tug when they can't score.
  6. Swap positions with Maloney and McFadden and I'd go with something similar.
  7. Any predictions for the weekend's game? Finding it hard to be optimistic after the last performance but on the brightside there won't be a Caldwell playing. Hoping Burley isn't predictable with his line up, would like to see McFadden through the middle and Maloney has had a good start to the season for Celtic so he should be in the first 11. Dare say we'll get Miller up front on his own though and Commons on the wing.
  8. You did the sound for our second gig as well then when we supported Jersey Budd and that was equally as odd. There were more beachballs than people at the Tunnels that night. Jersey Budd played to three people (excluding Tunnels staff and entourage) consisting of me and two old blokes who walked in for a pint. He still introduced his band to the crowd, 10 out of 10 for effort I guess.
  9. One Night Stand (2006) - A one off gig for an awards evening at work. Had Shaki on drums although he never mentioned it in his post (either through shame or forgetfulness...I suspect the former) but I'm bringing it up as it was my first time on bass. Very cheesy as nobody knew we were going to play then up we get on stage and...BINGO BANGO...we start playing as a band. Ran through the crowd pleasers and got an encore as well, go us! Gig was on Friday night, we were legends till about Monday tea break. Static in the City (2006 - 2009) Recently deceased indie rock band. Actually had some decent tunes in my opinion but didn't really push ourselves very hard. Had a good few months last year getting to the T Break showcases in Edinburgh, recording and releasing an EP called "An Unseen Truth", getting some good reviews and radio play. Then took a long break from playing and upon our return nobody could really be arsed so called it a day. The Scandal Extracts (2009 - present) - Started as a side project with three SitC members to play songs written by our guitarist but on the demise of the original band this has now become our main focus. Had a slow start as our first gig was quiet to say the least. When we were setting up there was only a couple of folk sitting at a table and one of them approached the stage and said "Just want you to know that we're not actually going, just away for a cigarette and then we'll be back in"...bless 'em. Think we played to about six people that night but just before we were ready to play there was only the sound guy and the barman. Had a few gigs since including one at the Moorings a couple of weeks back which was good fun. Tunes are a bit more lo-fi than SitC although we are mint at improvised post-rock at practice so we should maybe use that as a new direction.
  10. I agree, I took my bass to Marshall Dow and he knew his stuff so I'd recommend him. Wasn't anything I needed done but yapped to him for a wee bit and he really seemed very reliable.
  11. I'm stunned they were spotted coming out of a hotel that shut a couple of years ago.
  12. Dons away to Dundee in the league cup, with our record against lower division sides of late that is a tricky one.
  13. I found it very encouraging that McGhee played those boys. He had a pretty good record at Motherwell with using young lads and getting performances out of them. We're not going to be world beaters by any stretch of the imagination this season but with perhaps another signing and using lads like Fyvie, Crawford, Paton and Pawlett in the correct manner then maybe, just maybe, this season isn't a total right off like many seem to think it will be.
  14. As things stand, we need further budget for players so letting some backroom staff go and getting in "multi-taskers" as McGhee put it isn't a bad idea in my opinion. I feel sorry for Leighton as he is a club legend but with restrictions on bringing in players due to finances, then McGhee needs to be smart, not sentimental, about how he uses his budget. Getting rid of a goalkeeping coach and an osteopath may contribute to bringing in another player or a loan signing for the season, which we need with the squad being thin.
  15. I'm off to the Leeds Festival this weekend, one that I've never been to before. Was wondering if anyone had been before and what their overall opinions were?

Are you sure that's not Sally Gunnell?!?!
  18. That's a really good song guys, has a really nice upbeat drive to it. Liking the artwork for the EP as well. Keep up the good work!
  19. Wasn't Burn After Reading a Coen Brothers film as well?
  20. Rear Window - First of all for a love of Hitchcock films but it has a great story, good characters and was made in a very clever fashion. In fact, quite a few Hitchcock films could be thrown in. Other notable mentions would be Goodfellas and Godfather trilogy.
  21. The ref was a racist...even though his wife is black! Kingston never saw that gem coming.
  22. I've had enough of the Hearts game, Shawshank Redemption on Film 4 wins.
  23. Rumours of an upcoming EP, will have to wait and see if those are true. The Harry Patch song they did is a rather pleasant tune also.
  24. I think he had a get out clause that Besiktas made use of, 80k or so.
