  1. Unfortunately, I can't erase from my memory the fact that Liverpool winning that final gave Alex Miller a CL winners medal.
  2. The Cribs - Ignore the Ignorant My Secret Santa present - 'mon Santa!
  3. Correct Spies. I would also like Frank Drebbin (or Drebbin as he will just be known in the movie) to have a fight scene where someone tries to poke him in the eyes but he sticks his hand up to his nose so the attacker's fingers are just too short.
  4. "I'm too old for this shit" is going to be the closing line of the film.
  5. I think it should be a Running Man style film where the best ever cop characters and bounty hunters have their guns taken off them and they have to escape an island with nothing but an attitude and a sharp tongue. Harry Callahan, John McLean, Snake Plisken, Mike Lowery and Frank Drebbin. That should do it. The top screen tough guys all fighting the evil Busey!
  6. But armed with an arsenal of one liners, the only thing more lethal than a gun!
  7. Pedro Mendes was at Porto if I remember correctly. Can't be any more than that surely!? Another 5 minutes killed at work...result! At this rate I need roughly around 32 more questions to see me until 5pm.
  8. Technically Jonathan Greening is still a WBA player (season long loan to Fulham I think?) and he was in the squad that beat Bayern Munich. I think I have just found a loophole rather than given a proper answer so I'll award myself half a point! Footy trivia is a superb way to pass time on these quiet days in work leading up to xmas.
  9. Part of me actually agrees with this, if football is a results business (as the saying goes) then Jimmy finished above Levein in each season they were up against each other as Dons / Utd manager. However, I think Levein is the best man for the job for other reasons. He holds a lot of respect in the game and that is a major bonus. Burley didn't have the respect of the players and that showed in attitudes towards him but I don't think CL would have that issue. He conducts himself well with the media and that is a major advantage. The red top papers can fairly make or break a manager and I can't see him losing their confidence in a hurry. Someone also mentioned he could shake up the national game and with his management/director of football role at Utd he could have the right experience to do this. He has also showed steady progress at Utd and now has them competing at the top of the league and that is encouraging. I just hope if he does get the job then the blazers at the SFA don't fuck everything up. George Peat and Gordon Smith are a pair of dicks and should let Levein do his job, just as they should have let Burley do his.
  10. I've been meaning to pick up a book on him for ages and just never got round to it. Saw The Damned United recently and stoked my interest again although I probably wouldn't get the book the film was based on as I heard it is quite flawed. There are some excellent stories and quotes about Cloughie so I'd imagine books about him are quite interesting.
  11. Get Forza Italia by a bloke called Dan Parks. He's an Irish journalist who moved to Italy so he could report on the football and the book is about his experiences and opinions on how football operates in Italy. Chapters on Berlusconi's influence on football, Maradona, how Mussolini (technically) was responsible for starting the Serie A etc.
  12. Just saw on Skysports News that Levein been given permission to talk to the SFA about the Scotland job.
  13. I wouldn't necessarily say Sony are behind it, although they are undoubtedly rubbing they're hands together at the exposure this has got. Win - Win situation for them. I reckon it was a Facebook page that took off. I've had a few messages on Facebook about joining the group and about two or three emails. Very rarely, but every so often, a youtube video or a social networking campaign goes viral and gathers momentum and I think it was some punter set it up because he thought it would be funny to have a Xmas number one with the line "Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me". Regardless, you're right about what Sony are reaping from this. Increased sales, two acts at the top of the chart and huge amounts of publicity. Anyway, fuck Joe 90 or whatever he's called...Rhydian was much better.
  14. BBC says sorry after Rage Against the Machine singer swears on radio show | Media | guardian.co.uk Listen to it here. Honestly, what were they expecting?!
  15. I noticed yesterday the bloke who set up the Facebook page to get Rage to number one also set up a Justgiving page and has raised around 30k for Shelter.

    Pet Hates!

This reminds me. People who have t-shirts made up to go on holiday. "A boozy holiday to Magaluf - let's get t-shirts with "Lads on tour" printed on them and our nicknames on the back. Nobody else will think of that." Craaaaaaazy!
  17. I thought they were pretty good. Played with them at The Moorings a few months after and enjoyed them again. Horses for courses I guess.
  18. One I forgot about in terms of a local night was back in the summer. Ded Rabbit, Okker (I think), The Fire and I and Stanley at Drummonds. Very good turn out and all the bands were excellent. Ded Rabbit I found very catchy and entertaining and Okker were interesting with their song structures. Stanley clearly put a lot of thought and time into their songs and it shows but The Fire and I are just superb. It is hard to believe there is only two of them playing, what a noise they make! I had played a gig with them a few months beforehand and had gone to watch them again but glad I got a chance to watch the other bands as well.
  19. Didn't get to too many gigs this year but Blur at T in the Park was my highlight. Mainly due to them being a band I enjoyed when I was growing up and I had forgotten how good songs like The Universal were. Didn't play Jubilee though, the little oiks. Other mentions were Radiohead and Florence and the Machine at Leeds. Radiohead played a set that wouldn't have won them many new fans but I'm always going to enjoy their gigs!
  20. Fantastic finish. Read a quote from him this morning saying walking is even a problem and he may struggle to run again. All that at 26.
  21. Free to download from his website. Not listened to it yet so not sure what is like but who cares as it is free music and free music is the shit...fact! Bootlegs 1 : House-Sitting Songs - Lightspeed Champion
  22. Yeah, knuckledraggers would think twice about setting up cheek to a copper twice their size but would surely be more confident if it was someone smaller. I guess the flipside is they look daft when they get their heads busted by a midget. I'd like to see an increased police presence. Even if it does kick off, having some coppers close at hand would difuse the situation before it escalated. There is always going to be violent crime as it just takes a wrong comment (or even looking at someone in the wrong way it seems) for a flashpoint so having authority close at hand could break up any trouble. Realistcally, it would be difficult to find the resource to have this in the surrounding areas to the town centre where there are also fights and muggings so perhaps introducing community wardens in some neighbourhoods may also assist.
  23. Maybe she's like Hooks from Police Academy and can rip everyone a new arsehole if push comes to shove?!
