  1. A friend got some tickets in the presale. Now I just need to get some money... I hate AECC gigs, but I'll tolerate it. Don't reckon many neds'll be there for once...
  2. Is this the rock n roll mother? If so, hello, I think I spoke to you for a few seconds at Drummonds.
  3. Probably Richard too. Ace, might go catch that.
  4. "Followed By Belle + Sebastian DJs"?! Any idea who?
  5. Mmm... Dance Lazarus Dance. With songs with names such as "This Guitar is my Pony, Jump Pony Jump!" how can they go wrong? "If something's happening, it's happening tonight, turn up the bassline and turn down the lights"
  6. Only just realised this thread, so sorry for its resurrection, I just wanted to air my view that no-one else wants to hear really... People whom I believe deserved to be called "cool"... 3 Lily Allen (Used to hate her, good album though, then I read her blogs. Funny as hell.) 4 Jarvis Cocker (I adore this man) 7 Kate Jackson (Although Dorian is much cooler. Actually, Screech is the best Blonde...) 10 Lovefoxxx (She's so sweet offstage and on, but on, she's filth-ay!) 23 Albert Hammond Jr (Excellent solo album) 26 Keith Richards (No explanation needed. Immortal...) 46 Jackie McKeown (Good friend of mine, not the coolest in the band, but I still love him) 48 Cat Power (Makes me chuckle WITH, not AT) 50 Amy Winehouse (I do love the Wineho)
  7. Yaaaas! Progress! Not as bad as the Rakes! Loved their first album, but the second...not fantastic...
  8. Art Brut tracks to recommend? I love 'em all, but Emily Kane is great, as is Nag Nag Nag Nag, but it's from their new album, not out 'til June. Oh, and you can hear some Cougar stuff on www.myspace.com/cougarsound
  9. Yeah, Art Brut were fast becoming one of my favourite bands anyway and this was before seeing them live. After, they're definitely on that list! The sound in the music hall was, as always, not fantastic, but I've been to worse. I wasn't sure what to think of the rendition of (I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles, but I like how they didn't do a generic version. They made it their own and that's always good.
  10. Weren't they playing the Music Hall in April last year?
  11. Cougar: Fantastic. I never thought I'd be this into a band with no lyrics, but they had rhythm which is always good. Art Brut: Loved them. Sang along to every word. Some people who didn't seem to be enjoying it next to me tried to grab their setlist, but I got it. Muahaha. Met Eddie after the show and he was just as funny as he was onstage. Maximo Park: Second time I've seen them, but they were fantastic as well. So much energy in one small Paul Smith! I loved the fact that he was loving every minute and you could tell by how he had a massive grin on his face after every song. Lovely band. Who else was there last night? What did you reckon?
  12. Strangely, at the moment I'm more looking forward to Art Brut, but the Park should be ace live, as always.
  13. Heard from guys at Tunnels that the Disco have given them a list of dates they're available for another reschedule. Ah well!
  14. Ohyeahhh(H) going it alone... Gonna buy a ticket tomorrow. Meant to go into One Up today, but woke up too late. The Lone Raver...
  15. Thaaaat's right, I am completely retarded... No, I meant that I thought it was just Ripchord and Dead! Dead! Dead! supporting until I saw this thread.
  16. I used to dislike the guy, but after meeting him, he's so very pretty... I'm sure he has this effect of everyone!
  17. Joe Public does seem to love a cokehead...
  18. Might have been Neil's Children Didn't actually see any Horrors leave the vicinity of the venue... Strangely, not even to nip across the road to Slain's... Aye, Malcolm Ross was onstage with the lovely Low Miffs.
  19. Yeah, apparently it sold out at the last minute. Me and my friend were planning on doing the same, then we got told we were on the guestlist, but that turned out to be a lie, so we just hung out with the Low Miffs instead. Did get to meet everyone after though which was alright. I've changed my opinion on Faris Rotter after meeting him, though, the first time he was a bit quiet and shy which made him seem a bit pissed off, but the second time, he was really nice and spoke without having to be made to. Love the Low Miffs though. They gave us free singles out of pity... aw...
  20. I really really really really want to go badly (it's also the launch party for their single, 'OK') but it looks like I'll be going alone as none of my friends seem up to it... Grr...
  21. Ooh, badges! Sold! Can I get two? I'm being dragged along despite the fact that The Horrors don't really do anything for me. Recently, though, I've heard about their shows and what they get up to and it all sounds quite fun, so I'm not being a complete miserable fuck about it. Plus I get to dress up and gothify... or just wear all black, which I'm happy with. And the Low Miffs are supporting, waheeey! I'd look forward to NEiL'S CHiLDREN if only they didn't look so much like the Horrors... Exhibit A...
  22. I hate AECC gigs, they're always full of idiots. Somehow, neds manage to turn up in hundreds there and ruin it for everyone else. Like at the Franz gig, that was horrific, despite my love for Franz Ferdinand. The Killers was alright, it would have been better if people hadn't used violence to get to the front to see Brandon because "He's so hot!!!!" Ugh... I tend to have quite a good time at the Music Hall, but you do get some wankers there too...
  23. Airhammer www.myspace.com/airhammer Excellent. *edit* Sorry, didn't see that you said you'd got it. What did you think of them?
  24. Well... that's you lot now off my Bands I've Seen Live list. How misleading I'll get back on topic: ...Bloc Party... yeah.
