  1. Excellent, thanks for that. I'll check 'em out.
  2. D'ya know who's supporting? I think I may have stumbled upon someone in the early hours of this morning who saw my Art Brut tshirt and said their band was. I might have imagined this though...
  3. Did Arctic Monkeys acknowledge the Horrors and wanky crowds on Friday? They didn't on Saturday, but I've heard that on a few nights of the tour, Alex had said stuff like "D is for Dickheads...throwing stuff at the Horrors..." and "Did you enjoy the Rascals and the Horrors?" "BOOOOOOOO!" "Were you throwing ketchup at the Horrors?" "YAAAAAAAAY!" "Well then you're wankers then, aren't you?" Woulda quite liked to have been with the neds at that point
  4. I know Faris and Rhys love creating an atmosphere and Rhys was doing nothing but antagonise things, but that was so uncomfortable to watch. I just felt so pissed off at people literally getting angry and five boys playing music. Poor Tom looked a bit terrified. And he got hit in the head by various things...
  5. I'm going tonight for the Horrors, really... :O Never used to like them, but just recently really got into them. What was the crowd like for them last night? Was dreading the crowd for them, probably being arseholes to 'em, but have heard that the band quite enjoy that attention. Weirdos Was there any onstage banter from the Monkeys? Questions galore!
  6. I knew someone that had two spare, but not sure if she's still got 'em. I'll find out for you tomorrow.
  7. What date's this gig, again? I'm tempted, but I guess it depends when it is.
  8. Ooh, sounds great! Saw them at Connect and they left the whole tent singing, was fantastic!
  9. Ahh, thanks for that, was wondering what they were called, enjoyed 'em.
  10. What time d'ya suggest going down at? I don't wanna be hovering alone looking like a twat for too long
  11. A-fucking-mazing! Such lovely G-I-R-L girls I left when some guy told everyone to start moving out, then remembered I hadn't bought a tshirt. Waiting around out the back for a bit and Sue and Dee came out and said they'd been signing stuff at the merch stand. Daaaamn!
  12. I've still got the spare ticket. Save you a journey to One Up
  13. Anyone need a ticket? My friend's ill and had to pull out so I've got one spare. Face value, 8. Let me know if you're interested. If you email me at kirstenin@hotmail.com I'll let you know if I've still got it by this afternoon.
  14. Aye, they're all friends, but I think Patrick said Sexy Kids were only playing the Aberdeen date. Franz like inviting their pals around, they did the same with 1990s
  15. My friends Andy and Patrick are in Sexy Kids [www.myspace.com/sexierkids] They're good, really, but they've only got a few songs and only played a few gigs together before as this group (Patrick, Roxanne and Gronald are in the Royal We and Andy used to be in Bricolage) and only agreed to support that day. Half an hour before the gig, I found out and did a happy-dance Franz-wise: It was good hearing Turn It On again as it's friggen catchy as hell! And it's always nice to see big bands play small venues, especially if they really do well there like Franz do. I'm glad they've got to where they are though, they're one of those bands that definitely deserve it.
  16. I reckon if they're only doing it in Scotland, they'll bring some friends from Glasgow to play. I know, I was concerned about that, but if they're in Iceland on the 14th, I think Ticketweb's just made a mistake. They're better in a smaller environment. I went down to see one of their wee shows in Glasgow last month and it was excellent. It was really good 'cos the crowd was made up of actual fans rather than people waiting for the "hits". The new songs are fantastic too. Much more synthy than before, but it works and you can see they're not just jumping on the resurrected synth bandwagon. Later attended the after-party where Bob, Andy, Alex and Nick were in attendance and an after after-party party at my friend's flat with Mr Kapranos. Spoke to him quite a bit, but nothing about Franz, mostly about his production of the Cribs' brilliant new album, he's genuinely one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Not at all an arrogant prick as you might expect! In conclusion(!) I can't fucking wait

    Your current read?

Right now, A Handful of Dust by Evelyn Waugh. When I'm done with it, I'll move onto some of his other ones, Brideshead Revisited and Decline & Fall.
  18. I know... it'll be nice to see Rickman play out his memories in the final film though. God, I love Rickman...
  19. I liked it, but as it has been said, Rowling seemed fixated with constantly referring back to previous books. Okay for me though, 'cos being a nerd with too much time on my hands, I read the fifth and sixth a few days before the final one came out. Anyhoo, I wasn't too bothered with how this book ended up, I just wanted it to get out there for Snape's goodness to be seen by all (continuing with the nerd theme, obviously) as he's always been my favourite, so I'd always stuck to my guns that he was a good guy. The best chapter for me was definitely The Prince's Tale as it told things which I'd been guessing for a while. All in all, a nice wee read though.
  20. I think I can guarantee there'll be none of that. He prides himself on the fact that he is a bassist, so automatically cool. A foot-tapper, slight head-nodder at the most.
