  1. I've got spare copies of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Portal and 2 copies of Civilization V up for grabs on Steam if anyone wants them. They've been sitting in my inventory for ages. http://steamcommunity.com/id/russianguyovich/
  2. Very sad news. One of the more memorable long-running members of this forum. Always enjoyed reading the recent stuff he'd picked up. RIP
  3. Yeah, let's just keep the thread a circlejerk instead. Enjoy.
  4. You mean less accurate than a mouse. Aim assist is usually present to make it easier to get kills and therefore make the game more accessible.
  5. http://store.steampowered.com/stats/ CS 1.6 and Source are constantly in the top 5 most played games on Steam. Easy to get a game against low skilled players. Also lol @ people on Xbox Live calling others tryhards for a fps that has aim assist.
  6. It'll be Rayman Origins: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rayman_Origins
  7. I suppose they are forced to add gimmicks and put more emphasis on streaming media with their new consoles to justify buying them over a PC these days, especially considering you can just buy stuff on Steam then use a 360 controller to play if you don't want to use a mouse and keyboard. Ends up being cheaper a lot of the time too. Inb4 amg not everyone can spend £1000s on a PC every few years despite being able to get a spec that will handle the majority of new titles for the same price as a 360 or PS3

  9. It's not the fact it's £40, I just don't think there's enough new content to justify there being a sequel. CoD is a trend and it will die eventually. Activision are renowned for doing this. Don't fix what ain't broke is good and all, but there's only so many times you can do it without adding enough to convince people that this year's version is worth the full retail price. In a few years it will no longer be cool to play CoD.
  10. Seems a bit stupid to compare considering the only similarities are that they are both military-based first person shooters and it's the Russians versus everyone else. Modern Warfare 3 looks like a full price DLC for Modern Warfare 2 as expected. Activision will continue to milk this cash cow as long as people mindlessly pay for it until they destroy it like Tony Hawk's and Guitar Hero. As for Battlefield 3, the PC version is far superior, but Origin is dumb and the browser based launcher is unfinished. Clearly EA rushed the game out to compete with Activision. There's also no way of seeing player pings and there's some incredibly bad lag. I've just went back to TF2 while DICE pull their thumbs out their arse and patch the game. However, at least DICE have tried to make some new additions to the Battlefield formula which affect gameplay such as flashlights that can blind other players and blurred vision when being shot at/bonus points for suppressive fire. I don't see the point of releasing a named sequel if all you're going to do is throw in a new 6 hour campaign, some new maps/weapons and a couple new game modes.
  11. Inb4 admin deletes your post, like they did with mines.
  12. Get one of these beasts: Pricey and bulky, but worth it. Use it to attach one wheel and the frame to the post/pole/whatever. Also get a standard U-lock and attach it to your other wheel and the frame so the minks don't decide to just steal that. It happened to one of my mates when he was in college and had to walk home to Hazlehead with one wheel.
  13. For anyone interested, Team Fortress 2 is now free to play on Steam: Team Fortress 2 on Steam Also Meet the Medic video:
  14. Finally got round to listening to this album after loving the tune 'Southern Freeez' for about a year: YouTube - ‪Freeez - Mariposa‬‏ Shit hot album. Unfortunately I don't think it was released on CD so LP or vinyl rips are the only formats available.
  15. I've learned not to trust IGN/Gamespot/Gametrailers as they've given some brilliant games really mediocre reviews, but remember that 8.0+ out of 10 is still a pretty good score in terms of scale and I've yet to see one review below that for LA Noire. This game reminds me so much of LA Confidential. Preordered, hoping it arrives today.
  16. Really digging this guy right now:
  17. Yeah i've seen you around quite a fair bit. You're not a bad medic when you pocket me as a soldier (although I probably have failed to protect you now and again). TF2's got a steep learning curve, but if there's anything you want to get advice on then just give me a shout. Finished Portal 2 last week, great single player although I found it a little too easy to be honest. I hope the DLC will have tougher test chambers. Words cannot express how much I love Valve, even though they are fucking up TF2 by adding more hats/weapons without optimising the updates/fixing bugs first.
