  1. I forgot about the Piney Gir album, that had some lovely songs on it.
  2. I'm actually gutted I can't go to this, Echolocation is one of my favourite albums. If only it was a few days later! Props on getting them to Aberdeen though, it will be amazing!
  3. Probably the Antlers at The Deaf Institute in Manchester, wonderful band and beautiful venue. Closely followed by Monsters of Folk at the Troxy, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart at Sleazy's and Grizzly Bear at ABC. I also enjoyed Kartta's last show and the performance of Guitar Trio and Mimas at the Captain's Rest.
  4. God, the Ultimate Reward account is seriously ridiculous, I almost feel embarassed for signing up for it today but it will actually end up being cheaper as you don't pay anything up to the first 300 of your overdraft, meaning I'll only end up paying 7.50 a month rather than 30 or so, which would have made it much harder to pay off my overdraft.
  5. Well, yeah sure we all make mistakes. She still has the opportunity to rectify hers though, but what she lacks is the decency to do so.

Ward-Hold Time Atlas Sound-Logos Sunset Rubdown-Dragonslayer It Hugs Back-Inside Your Guitar I also loved the Dark Was The Night compilation and First Aid Kit's Drunken Trees EP, but I guess these narrowly miss the list on technicality!

  8. I'd agree with most of this, and I do like The Beatles. I think there were just other bands around the same time that were just more interesting though-13th Floor Elevators were massively influential, they had nowhere near the same universal recognition though.
  9. For anyone who cares: MONSTERS OF FOLK - TOUR DATES I know I'm excited anyway! Tickets are onsale now from Ticketmaster, although just the one UK date in London. There's a free track for download on the site too.
  10. Spotify Resource I couldn't get a few of these to load so apologies for any duplicates!

  14. I just watched that without sound as I don't have my headphones with me and don't really want to subject the rest of the office to it. Hilarious.
  15. I'm currently growing basil, mint, parsley and strawberries (the first three are doing brilliantly (basil plant is massive), the strawberry plant is a little sluggish...) Also growing mushrooms, they're really easy and low maintenance, you just need a box around 10-12cm deep with a lid, some mushroom compost and spawn which you can buy online, but loads of places sell compete kits cheaply. All you need to do is give them a fine covering with mist every day and keep them somewhere dark and warm. If you can leave the covering mould intact when you pick them then you'll find that you can get a really big yield from just one set of spawn.
  16. Ah cool, really love your music, good luck with the search! (If you do move to Edinburgh, I'd happily make the jaunt through for a jam if you needed any extra guitar...or sleigh bells!)
  17. The Brewdog blond is very tasty, as is their new(ish?) stout that's aged in whisky casks. Think it's called Paradox.
  18. I can't quite believed I just watched that. I'm embarassed for them, they're beyond bad. Incidentally, the idiot in the pink T with the ridiculous hair had his hands round a girl's throat and was screaming into her ears...surely our local MPs will take swift action to ensure this band can't gig in the city...could corrupt the kidz.
  19. Well it certainly was laborious to read! Interesting debate though. Back on topic (although I'm evidently very late to the party), the music wasn't really my thing but would have liked to have caught the show on the 4th. Any further projects in the pipeline?
  20. Wow, half my morning just disappeared.
  21. A friend and I ran into Jenny Lewis and Mike Mogis last Spring in a car park in Omaha while we were looking for a taxi we'd ordered. We were incredibly inebriated and they were very sober. I don't remember much, they were both lovely though. We had a very, very long and slightly nonsensical conversation in which Tommy Burns and Tommy Sheridan somehow got confused and we ended up discussing at length how Sheridan had tragically lost his battle with skin cancer.
  22. Just laughed very audibly in a crowded library, thanks!
  23. Really like the tunes guys Looking forward to hearing them live, any chance you could save me a CD for the 13th Note gig?
