  1. Bit of a cop-out. Are there no more decent, knowledgeable bands left to do the curating? AKM
  2. I think you can get the series on Aussie DVD, but I will never understand why "The Adventures of Lano and Woodley" never got the popularity it deserved. One of the funniest shows I've ever seen. Release them here, now. www.lanoandwoodley.com AKM
  3. Yes. I saw it in Fopp yesterday. AKM
  4. I can't say I approve of this concept. Even though I do like Stroszek. AKM
  5. i gotta reasonable solution. ban all fags, cigars, smoking devices, Rizlas, and so on. simple, no? AKM
  6. that was me. what a ludicrously brilliant band. thanks again for a high-quality Saturday night. AKM
  7. Idiot Wind. the way it crashes into action and doesn't let up. and his "singing" voice is just perfect for that chorus - "you're an iiiidiot baaabe...it's a wonder that you still know how to breathe". marvellous. AKM
  8. Bonnie Prince Billy - Is Your Love In Vain? or White Stripes - Love Sick or Kordoba - Just like a woman. well, it might not be that good. but it's ruddy good fun. AKM
  9. I don't know much about computer prices. I want a desktop PC, mainly used for internet, photography storage and manipulation, music and some games (nothing hyper-modern and high-graphic). Packard Bell PC AMD Sempron 3000+ processor 512Mb DDR RAM 200Gb Hard Drive 17" Philips flatscreen monitor DVD re-writer keyboard, mouse Total - 529.99 inc. vat. cheers AKM
  10. I am looking forward to this gig even though I disapprove of the word "aluminum", for colonial reasons. AKM
  11. I forgot to add -cough to my list. Thanks for reminding me. AKM
  12. people at gigs should not be allowed to: -smoke -talk -buy drinks -move -shout -heckle -use mobile phones -have physical contact with any strangers -mosh -shriek when the lights go down -shriek with excitement at the predictable encore imho. AKM

    Dilemma

Started all what again? If she's just your friend, what is there to start? every friendship has phases of drifting apart, then spending lots of time together (except in sitcoms). get used to it. AKM
  14. so... these guys: called THESE guys: gay. talk about pot, kettle, black. AKM
  15. Kordoba are one of the support bands. We're looking forward to it. www.kordoba.co.uk cheers AKM
  16. One can just imagine whoever is responsible for booking gigs at the AECC: "We've not had a decent band here for absolutely years, and we have a reputation as a terrible, soulless venue. Who shall we get to reverse the trend? A crap, annoying whinger who will sink without trace in a matter of months. Sign him up!" AKM
  17. Not the kind you're thinking of. I have an enormous stack of music magazines. Since I am shortly moving to a new flat, I wondered if anyone wanted to take them off my hands? Around 75 Q magazines, 1997-2005. Around 110 NME magazines, 1996-2005. I live in the Hilton area, so if anyone wants some lovely musical history for their reading pleasure, they're available for collection. Would accept 30 for the lot - rough estimate suggests I paid about 500 for them. cheers AKM
  18. Thanks, old fella. Your approval means much to me. Any other comments? AKM
  19. But the new film wasn't just a re-make of the old film; it was another version of the book. And a better version, in every respect, IMHO. Even the Wonka/dentist storyline was surprisingly touching. And the songs were just brilliant. 9/10. AKM
  20. Anyone? Are they so good that you're all speechless, or are they so shite that you're all laughing? AKM
  21. Dear All, Please take a few minutes to check out the links below. These new songs (in .wma format), were recorded and mixed at the Mill in the last couple of months, and, while still not perfect, are a step up in quality and fidelity from our previous recorded output. www.kordoba.co.uk/01%20Barry%20Grant.wma www.kordoba.co.uk/02%20The%20Liberal.wma www.kordoba.co.uk/03%20The%20Test.wma These songs also represent the many different styles which combine to form our (hopefully) interesting and unique style. We always appreciate feedback. Thanks very much. Andy K Martin.
  22. Yeah but were they in the same place? Doesn't count if you saw them all at once. ner-ner. AKM
  23. I saw two members of Element 106 today. The singer outside Macdonald's on Union Street. And the bassist in Captain Tom's. I should definitely get a prize. AKM
  24. Technically: it is pretty good. Musically: I really dislike this genre, so I didn't really enjoy this song. Lyrically: it sounds like he's coming from the "first thing that comes into my head" school. "Why can't we all be free", " we need to stand together", etc. AKM PS - that guitar solo is SO Eurorock. "Final Countdown" anyone?
