  1. "two good cops, one bad situation" - glimmer man basically any steven seagal movie will have a crappy tagline: "only one man can stop the yakuza" - into the sun mmm.... now i need to go rent about 20 seagal movies
  2. it's not really in the 'phobia' levels, but i have an irrational fear/strong dislike of moths. usually on seeing one i will freak out and jump around going "aagh! a moth!" which is pretty embarrasing when there's other people around. i know a girl who has an actual phobia of cotton wool and she says shes actually fainted at the sight of it before. i used to keep saying i had handfuls of cotton wool to freak her out.
  3. woo for internet comics: www.questionablecontent.net www.nothingnice.com www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/index.php?t=archives&date=last
  4. it told me i should vote for the lib dems, but i'm going to vote for apathy instead.
  5. i just found out that by forgetting to hand in my accomodation application, i won't be able to stay in the rgu halls. i looked at the mealmarket and it seems quite good, but the lease terms are a bit different from what i need (but i'll still probably apply). what other sort of places are good for students, that are fairly close to the city centre?
  6. That was on tv the other day as a party political broadcast, but i had to ask my friend if it was real or not - i was sure it really was a pisstake.
  7. i could probably do a top 50... but a top 5, off the top of my head trainspotting city of god snatch fight club irreversible gah, 5 is so restrictive.
  8. they did an album, hirohito something, is that the band?
  9. when i drink, partly it's a sort of social acceptance thing. like even when i'm not drinking people around me seem to ply me with drink, usually the instant i finish one i have another handed to me. or if i say i don't really feel like drinking people are like 'ah, just a couple' then half the time it'll end up lot more than that. personalitly wise, i'm really introverted, like i only even feel like being sociable maybe 5-10% of the time, but when i drink a bit i suddenly become really outgoing 'life of the party' kind of thing, talking to everyone, making friends with complete strangers, occasional ridiculous escapades. it's kind of interesting to think about, like why can't i be so outgoing when i haven't been drinking. i think my shyness acts as a barrier and allows my inhibitions to keep me in check as it were, like i might go to say something to someone i barely know and somewhere between my brain and mouth it hits a wall and instead i come out with 'guh'. there can be a lot of fun had of just getting completely plastered every once in a while, like i'm pretty bad for that at parties where i usually drink to shameful extents, like the time some swedish guys challenged me to a whisky drinking contest and i downed more than half a bottle. it's weird though, how sometimes the effects of drinking differ, like most times it increases my mood but will occasionally be really depressing.
  10. the one thing that really annys me is on motorways or duel carriageways when you go to overtake a line of cars but theres maybe a car or two in front overtaking as well doing exactly the speed limit - that doesn't bother me, i give them enough space and don't get all arsey about it - what bothers me is the fuckwit behind me who always decides it's a great idea to drive right up my arse as if that'll somehow magically shift the 3 cars in front that are doing 70mph. recently i had someone drive right up behind me, then when the car in front of me moved into the left lane, i sped up a bit withthe intention of pulling into the left once i felt i was far enough past the car that had just pulled over, but that wasn't enough for driving-right-up-my-arse-man, as soon as there was a car's length between me and the car i'd over taken he pulled into the left lane, cutting off that car with the intention of undertaking me. just to show him what i thought of his driving (and also to show him what a shit car he had) i waited for him to get slightly ahead of me then accelerated right past him, leaving him to have to brake for the lorry he was about to rear-end.
  11. do you mean like that cocaine advert that's always on? instead of warning me away from the stuff, that ad makes me want to go find a big supply of it and snort till my septum falls out. they should come up with better adverts than that. and on the topic of the thread, i'd say 95% of what's on tv isn't worth watching. boo
  12. i agree *appreciates boards of canada* i only have the 'music has the right to children' album though, do they have any cds out better than that?
  13. are there any? there's one on king street and another on george street that i know of, but both are pretty much well.. come on, aberdeen *must* have a decent chippy! i need some junk food to tide me over till our oven gets fixed (damn student flats). so, any suggestions?
  14. different intonations of 'aye' seem to do the trick for me.
  15. was that one in edinburgh where they had camarosmith on just before zeke about a year and a bit ago? miuku and karloff played that night too, right? i probably would have went if i'd known about it/wasn't skint.
  16. 2 there of mmw, but a bit blurry and crap as i was quite far back and still getting used to the lights
  17. heres some not so great ones i took: (apologies if i made the post a bit big)
  18. austrilasias great, but i don't think i've heard of shellac, are they as good as pelican? might have to look into them.
  19. sort of along the lines of the thread, does anyone know any good places for a uni student to find part time work in aberdeen?
  20. to be fair, i hadn't heard of them until last night, and the post 2 before my last one also referred to them as 'allegro'. is it so unfeasible that a band might name themselves after an old austin automobile?
  21. were allegro the first band to play? i liked them a lot, better than the second band to play(who were still pretty good). that first band, their singers voice sounds like someone elses i've heard, probably someone more famous, but i'm not 100% sure i'm not imagining it - any ideas? i was expecting a lot from cult of luna, and they didn't dissapoint, i really enjoyed their set. bleeding through were enjoyable, but not really my cup of tea and seemed (like was already said) a bit samey. great gig though
