  1. There weren't as many people there as I thought there would be, enjoyed all the band though, although was disappointed cos I missed Betzefer due to my mate feeling way ill. Were Betzefer good? all the other bands were great, even Weeping Jesus were pretty good once they picked up a bit.
  2. Pretty sure I'll be making this one. Anyone know what ticket availability is like, or if it'll be safe to pay at the door on the night?
  3. "I have herpes (meat is murder)"
  4. I suck at living in Aberdeen, I've never seen the arora here before. Is there a best place or time of year to see it best?
  5. I still have the theme tune for that game lodged inside my head' date=' can probably still play it on guitar too. I only completed it once, I remember the final level being a bit tricky due to having to swim pixel perfectly between spikes, and the last boss would fire like fireballs at you (2 at a time) that moved at you in a sort of sine wave fashion, one high, one low, when you had dodged enough, you got to one round of rock, scissor, paper, if you won that he would launch more fireballs. The ending wasn't too great - you just rescued your brother who went on to be prince, hence allowing AK to continue his adventures. I would have been tempted to let him rot and become the main heir to the kingdom, personally.(spoiler in white ) I'm fairly sure I completed Tj&E too, but the thing I remember is how you could swim way of the edge of the map on (maybe the first?) some level, and find a secret portal to a hidden luxury level, complete with a jacuzzi.
  6. Is there anywhere that has tickets in? I tried one-up today but to no avail
  7. It's just the name of the band I can't think of, it's going to bug me for ages! *edit* not now it won't!
  8. I can't remember which band it was, some Norwegian Death metal band possibly, but the singer went to the guitarists house and found that he had cut his wrists and shot himself in the head with a shotgun. Rather than phone the emergency services, he took photos, one of which was used as the cover for some live album the band released. Damn my feeble memory for not remembering!
  9. My last 5 songs on random play then: Wolf Eyes - Stabbed in the Face Mew - Apocalypso Aphex Twin - Digeridoo These Arms Are Snakes - La Stanza Bianca Animal Collective - The Softest Voice
  10. Should be going to see this, both bands sound pretty good from their songs on myspace, plus one of my friends is in that society and asked if i was going about 4 times already
  11. Sure man no probs' date=' here's a few [img']http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/1q2w/100_1917.jpg
  12. one of a few pics I took that night. For some reason my camera skills (limited as they may be!) had gone to shit that night though.
  13. "my phone lands on ice > phone slides across ice in slow motion > phone falls down drain" Obviously I'm not a nice person as this bit made me laugh. Unlucky.
  14. I really enjoyed that gig, Miramar Disaster were good, especially their final song which was ace. Chris Clarke's set was cool, interesting for me as I've never really seen a live dj set up close before. I thought 65dos were really good too, radio protector is a song and a half The visuals on the back screen were weird and wonderful too, especially (just before 65dos i think) when it played the folky cover of the NWA song with the original video on the background!
  15. recorded these; cutsman, bunnies and a million exploding suns by HORSE the band last week
  16. Took some pics, here's a few: and seeing as everyone loves llamas:
  17. Hopefully 65dos get here ok with all this snow! These RFR gigs are great, so many thanks to the guys setting up the shows
  18. I heard Wolf Eyes have a gig in Manchester on May 1st, would be awesome if they made a trip up here about the same time, or anywhere in Scotland at the least.
  19. Wolf Eyes Envy Electric Wizard Sunn Pelican Mogwai Converge Isis Keelhaul Old Man Gloom
  20. Fluffy...- I quite liked them, or a couple of their songs anyway. Maybe it was technical difficulties, or maybe they need a bit more practise, but they sounded pretty poor. Sure they'll improve though, I did like what they were going for. Butchers - Their performance was pretty good, explosive energetic stuff, although I can't remember anything about any of their songs (they seem really short). Did enjoy them. Plus the boro accent the singer did at the start had me going, odd considering one of my best mates is from there. Flood of Red - I felt like I'd missed the punchline of a 5 minute joke, or maybe I just didn't get it. Really very bland generic songs, although their live performance was tight. And the "thank you sooooo much" thing every 2 minutes annoyed me as well. Final Sigh - Pretty good set, although none of their songs really stood out as anything special. Maybe their songs were a bit generic, but still enjoyable to see. HORSE the band - I thought they were pretty much immense during their songs, and even though the talking in between went on a bit long it was kinda funny and entertaining (unlike other bands I've seen tour before). Overall I thought it was a pretty sweet gig, and one Aberdeen should be grateful for considering they came here and not Glasgow like so many bands would have done. I really appreciated the gig as well as enjoyed it.
  21. I went to see this at Stadia with a rangers supporting friend of mine, it was a pretty decent game, Lovenkrands' goal was impressive too. Villa had one goal disallowed that should have been onside, so I don't know what they were complaining about the 2nd villareal goal for. Also of note was a bunch of guys who cheered the Villareal goals, pissed a couple of Rangers fans off to no end, and ended up in a few 'lets step outside' moments o_O
  22. Is that correct about HORSE the Band playing the tunnels on the 23rd? I had no idea about that, definately going to that one
  23. They have a bunch of them in that weight store (on the corner of the streets between John Lewis and Aberdeen College) and they also cost 25 there. Probably less if you have a student discount. Is there anywhere cheaper online?
  24. I did something very similar last year for an inorganic chemistry exam, I had deemed the topic far too boring to study for all term until 2 night before the exam - which was about the time I found out it was actually a pretty hard subject to learn that quickly. I did the allnighter with the help of a lot of red bull and a 6am jog in the freezing cold, and somehow fluked and remembered enough to get a fairly decent grade for the exam. Good luck man!
