It's probably a bit rubbish being a fan of another country... you suffer and glory with them but in general there's nobody to do it with, or people don't take you seriously.. but if he wants to, it's his choice to identify himself with them and call them his own. ?( I'd like to reach a stage where I could call the Czech team "we" without feeling like I was intruding on something.

Maybe because football having a high cultural importance encourages more kids to play which leads to better competition and higher quality (which played a part in Italy and France having (in the not so distant past _) top teams) and the fact that countries which are next to one another are often similar culturally... but yeah, it was pretty irrelevant.

He's so cute though And he tends to grin like a little goon when everyone else looks solemn. *Ha, the Czech for "calm water" was "tich voda"... guess normally they would say something like vžn (serious). Or, he plays without nonsense, Hraje bez nesmyslu.

Balls. I was hoping the Czechs would pull off a win today. I bet on Germany losing the final (to the Czechs, in my mind) and then realised how the crappy setup worked - I have inadvertantly pitched financial gain against purity of support and it's terrible! I suppose now I'd like to see Germany knocked out in the semis rather than before, so... mon Croatia.. (yes, yes, that would work nicely, as I would also love to see Portugal wither under the thick-browed gaze of Philipp Lahm.. )

I woke up at 11, went to read 17th century French soft porn in the library til it closed at four then went and bought 14 packs of Euro 2008 paninis and stuck them in, posted away some doubles I had sold on ebay, bumped into a friend and went to Subway, went back to mine with him and we ate some doughnuts and played a game, then sat trying to read some grammar book and talking on MSN, then I went to bed.
