  1. There's a cineworld in Aberdeen? Since when? Isat the UGC? You should see the one you want tonight and the one she wants tomorrow.
  2. Jim! I didn't know you were on here. Or that you were in a new band! Maybe I did.. anyway. How are you? Nice picture. Well I'm leaving Oxford at 1am on the Saturday and could be back by 11pm Monday (but I'm actually staying another day in Stockholm) - don't think it can be cut any tighter than that. As for Opeth, I had a metal phase last (akademik) year which has more or less passed but I picked up a great admiration of Opeth and casual interests in a number of other metal bands. But back in the day when it was right there playing in my house, I couldn't see any further than System as far as metal is concerned
  3. You guys - bar Alan, who is awesome - all have terrible taste in musical events if you are not titillated by this. Akerfeldt!!!!

  5. Dreamcast and SNES are my favrits. So er. Both.
  6. The only way to do this will be to download the full map from here: Going underground from Guardian Unlimited: Culture Vulture, then for each band/artist, learn the biography and buy their three most critically acclaimed albums and one less known one to mention in conversations to impress people.
  7. Has anyone else heard about this? It sounds amazing. Opeth, Comus, Qoph, Anekdoten, Katatonia and a load of others, all playing on a boat between Stockholm and Helsinki next March! I'm so excited. Just booking my flights now. Is anyone else going? MySpace.com - Melloboat - Stockholm - Helsinki, SE - Progressive / Folk / Metal - www.myspace.com/melloboat
  8. I went as a Jawa, it was ace because a Jedi and a Vader turned up as well and both of them just slagged off Jawas all night. Then some boob told me, nice Wookie costume, and someone else said Ewok. But also it wasn't ace because, due to bad engineering/lack of tools except my mouth and some scissors, I had the batteries taped on my neck and the lights taped onto my face and they were burning the tape and smoking into my eyes, plus the black thing to stop people seeing my face also stopped me from seeing out too well. Someone perhaps would have took photo of this Master Chief? I would happily to see it...

    Your current read?

Having been initially unimpressed with Capek, I started again and found out he's a pretty cool guy. I just read the trilogy Hordubal, Meteor and An Ordinary Life, nice little stories and also some philosophical questions should you care to think about them (but not if you don't want to). Makes me think I should read Bergson though, for my personal development (everyone seems to have taken influence from him!), and I have a feeling it will be, like every philosophical text ever, too difficult.
  10. Eh... no. Not yet. TPBM would lick a dog's knob for a crate of their FAVRIT BERE! (20 bottles.)(500ml each.)
  11. Somewhere in my Heart - Aztec Camera Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
  12. The Little Kicks The Downroads The Kitchen Cynics
  13. The Fifth Element? Children of Men has King Crimson im Saundtrack =)
  14. My favourite is Starship Trooper by Yes - number 68 in that list. It's like all good things in this world, condensed into some neow neeow .. and you have to wait such a long time for it... 25 or 30 reps of that riff (originally from a Bodast song ) and then... ahhhhhh. The best. Nejlepsi. Leiblingssolo.

    i think

    Ohhhhhhhhhh! I want this.
  16. I like rock music! Maybe one day I'll go to this night.
  17. A late night disco party! What kind of music is the DJ going to play?
  18. Aw I was so glee-stricken when those first PF chords rang out that I almost had to run to the toilets but I didn't want to miss it so I just peed in my pants. I also gained pleasure from trying to keep up with their time signatures in that long een. Very nice gig!
  19. Anyone else did go? I thought Os Mutantes were awesome and it was a great venue too.
  20. I think HP's great! I queued for the book at midnight but the shop didn't open so I got a taxi across Budapest to another place which should have had it but was unsuccessful. So I contented myself with sorting and resorting my HP5 film stickers and getting the book in the morning. It's a bigger effort than the books are worth, I expect, but it's pretty fun to wait for midnight and the only reason I didn't dress up was because I couldn't find the perfect stick to be a wand. Ohhh isn't it okay to be childish sometimes? Anyway, I liked the book. I was surprised more main characters didn't die. There were no big surprises but that was okay because even if some of your theories are proved boringly correct, it's good to see them all written down and integrated into the rest of the story. A couple of things about the writing style annoyed me but overall I found it pretty riveting. And now what? The time to reread, memorise, and write quizzes, fanfics and crosswords.
