  1. That's why the band should have input to the result's. It makes the Engineer/Producers life easy if they just do what they want without listening to the band's. Every band is different so require a different mix style.
  2. It wont sound Stadium Rock if done well. I will just be your band sounding really tight and ready for airplay.
  3. If you want it done to a very high standard yes. You can do it quicker but you cant get the same finish, the basics will be there but none of the polish If it is to send to Record co's then 3 good well recorded tracks will do much better than 10 poorly recorded tracks..Fact!
  4. You should book enough studio time to Record And Mix. It is your band so you have a say in how you want it to sound, But it should be recorded the way you want it and not try correct it in the mix.
  5. You could have Me at www.The-Byre.com for about 22 per hour (based on day rate) With the right gear
  6. Try saving a bit more. It isn't worth skimping on the vocal mic, It will cause more problems if it is cheap. If you can get 200 ish It would be much better.
  7. I have had some I first tried with 1:2 water mix and it was still stronger than normal, then worked upto 3:1 which was good. I will have to try again wheen the sugar/spoons turn up .. Good stuff
  8. It wasnt just Gus you where drinkng with
  9. Do you want A good Recording Or A Pro Recording? What do you want to do with it?? send to record co's etc or just sell local??
  10. What is your aim and what sort of budget?
  11. Soundscape you are into days before a restart, then it is only the PC needs to reboot.
  12. Can you get a working Protools rig????? one that doesnt crash every 5 mins. I have not seen one yet. and that includes 30k pro setups.
  13. I go out for a good drive that usually works.
  14. All that has happened recently is, We have improved the sound again. We have done this with the new tonally flat monitors, fully acoustically deadened stage and some special adjustments . We have just completed the new backline update, which now includes: Marshall DSL 100 & 4x12 ENGL Powerball & 4x12 Ampeg SVT2 Pro with 4x10 all is ready for any band to use if they so wish. If anyone wants to try the amps etc come down on a Sunday and have a jam. Mark
  15. That will be me then If you come down to the Moorings over the weekend I will be there if you want a chat. Mark,
  16. Chris (Muse Bassist) uses clean bass from amp 1, Microsynth (square wave setting) and a bit of fuzz. then just mixed together in amp 2. recording it, Take the clean Amp mic ch 1, DI into the FX into Ch 2 the FX can have the bottom rolled off to stop it altering the clean bass, The fx is blended in to the clean until you have the right sound..

Thanks Flash!! I really wanted your arse im my face
  18. This type of mic has been around for a while! I have not heard any that sound good at all. But if they have made them really work then they would be good for the touring bands to just plug&play. Studio's I dont think (other than FX track) they will be better than the usual Kit mic's
