  1. Im in the habit of going through the my CDs and just picking one up that its been a while since i've listened to it. Keeps a healthy rotation system going.
  2. In my opinion (note the word opinion): Point of Origin Double Jack Gilman Street Diablo
  3. I really don't like the Murderdolls but I guess this band may be good judging from the comparisons to good bands. I'll be checking out the Mp3's
  4. Aye, I'll give you that. It's not bad for a spot of drunk air guitar as well
  5. I have a thunderbird that I might be willing to sell because i desperately need money for the 52 Fender Telecaster im buying and selling the Thunderbird might pay for a chunk of the 275 i still need to get. My quest for a job is failing so i need the money, im not definate about selling it but I might. It's 8 months old and is in perfect condition.
  6. Cliff Burton says your wrong. Back to the subject: I prefer playing with my fingers. Both pick and fingers sound good in their own ways, Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) wouldn't have his trademark sound if he used a pick and Lemmy wouldn't have his crazily awesome sound if he used his fingers, the techniques just work best with different genres.
  7. It's a half decent bassline, but it's overated and is no where near Motorhead's best work (and basslines).
  8. Led Zeppelin-Achilles Last Stand Motorhead-Overkill Primus-Over the Falls
  9. I believe it was a King Prawn at Lava. I was 3 years ago when i was 13 and it was bloody amazing, learnt to skank at that gig. They played so much better than they did the last time they played Aberdeen.
  10. Hmm... Im going to be honest on this one....... I thought the bass (good to see another band with a bassist that can play with his fingers) and drum work was really good but sadly the rest was rather abysmal, rather than just put you down im going to try and be constructive with the critisism: -Your singer needs to work on his voice, get his to push his voice more so that it gets more edge and a wider variety of tones. -If you are going to do a cover then add something to it, cover a song that isnt straight up rock (or pop-rock your case), rework a classic from another genre, then you can show that your not just filling your set, you are adding something to the original. -Try not to wear your influences on your sleeves so much, try and add something to the pop rock which is becoming a rather stale genre. -Get your second guitarist to do something, he should really be the one doing the solos but if he can't then he should at least do some solid rythm lines so he isn't just standing there. -Work on the guitar solos, they were rather sketchy, get the bass player to do some bass solos, that would be interesting to see. -Less homosexual jokes, if your going to make jokes in between songs then vary the subjects and engage the crowd. Sorry if I sound harsh but I hope that you will take the critisism the right way and work to improve rather than giving up. You had some promising riffs and you managed to shrug off a few mistakes while playing live without panicking which is always a good quality in a band.
  11. I went into the shop the other day and it looks like it's going to be really good. Also, while I was in there I noticed one of the staff working on a custom painted guitar at the back of the bottom floor and this reminded me, it would be very cool if you guys got in touch with a guy who can do custom paintjobs on guitars (if there is one in the area) so customers can easily go through you for paint work (of course you would have to make a profit so like add your own small charge to the painters charge). Just an idea (oh and please stock some nice old Tele's, that would be awesome)
  12. T in the Park fuckign rocked. I saw so many good bands. The highlights for me were: Pixies:because they are legends and played so well Muse: my favourite band of the festival, they are so much better live that on CD. Goldie Lookin Chain: Funniest band I have ever seen, I even bought their 'Saveasfuck' T-shirt. The Libertines: I had been wanting to see them live for ages and they lived up to all expectations even thought pete wasn't there. The Zutons: I was surprised about how good they were, and their sax player is a absolute fox. Faithless: Weapons of Mass Destruction was awesome to hear live and their whole set was good. Chemical Brothers: Music was awesome, light show was awesome, screen animations were awesome and when they opened with 'hey boy hey girl' the crowd went nuts. Altogether an amazing weekend. The campsite was bloody hilarious as well.
  13. Was there on Saturday night as well. It was bloody amazing. Probabaly one of the best shows I've ever been to, the entire band was awesome and just standing there with that many people all singing along was quite mind blowing. Good setlist as well, they covered all the good stuff (and played Butterflies and Hurricans which was sooo good).
  14. "Tommy Hol Ellingsen and Leona Johansson, are known for donating revenues from an Internet porn site they run to save rain forests around the world." ^^^^^^^^ Proof that there are still good people in this world
  15. TV on the Radio's new single rocks. I love the video
  16. Good Lyrics: If you say 'Nothing Left to Lose', then you have not lost your voice. And if you've got the guts to choose, I will still give you the choice: You can fight or you can fall- There's no one left to take the blame. One last chance to prove it all, And I just hope you don't fuck it up. by a certain excellent band who played in One Up not very long ago.
  17. Its not mellow or anything but: Bob Dylan-Subterranean Homesick Blues The acoustic version of Jeff Buckley-Last Goodbye Smashing Pumpkins-Disarm and I just remembered: TUESDAYS GONE has to be included, the metallica version off of Garage inc. is rather awesome.
  18. Nice! I shall have to get a ticket
  19. If your refering to the bass with the round scratchplate in the middle of the guitar then it's a Musicman, it might be the Stingray model but I can't remember if it is.
  20. Im going down, I have to go through the hassle of trains and buses to get there though. It'l' be worth it though.
  21. Got any pictures? Im in need of a biker jacket at the moment
  22. They didn't show nearly enough Chemical Brothers footage, there was like 10 seconds of it.
  23. Lemmy Kilminster of Motorhead all the way. The man is god of the frontmen http://texaspunkjunk4.homestead.com/files/lemmy_motor.jpg
