  1. Mate of mine is selling 2 Weekend Tickets with camping, 200 each. You can contact him at c.w.hales@sms.ed.ac.uk Cheers
  2. Just back from Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, where I was diving with a few friends. Did the PADI Openwater course while I was over there and did a few other boat dives as well. Had an amazing time, the reefs there are spectacular, saw so many different fish each time that i'd defo consider going back (others at our resort saw a whale shark apparently). Gordon Reef in particular is worth the trip, reef not too far off the coast with a wrecked tanker from 1981 perched up on it. Once I get them uploaded i'll post up a few pics, I'm hooked but I fear that i'm doomed to spend a fortune on this new hobby. Next stop, shark diving in South Africa I hope as my dad lives out there.
  3. Cancelled after a few hours of waiting at Queens Cross. I was on one of the floats, such a shame that some idiots ruin it for everyone, the parade was going well up to the Queens Cross point. Cheers to everyone who donated though, we filled the buckets up a few times on our float.
  4. Was beyond spaced during that visit, they should write down what you have on a bit of paper and give it to you. Does this mean they havent given me anything for the tonsilitis? edit: Just looked up tonsilitis and it just said rest and keeping hydrated is the treatment so I guess the pills were given to me for a urinary tract infection of some sort? I need to start paying closer attention to people when they're speaking to me.
  5. Was actually surprised I didnt have to deal with a halfwit when I was there, the doctor who saw me seemed pretty competant (and old enough to not be a junior doctor) and when he was a little unsure about the result of the urine test he brought in a senior doc to confirm the diagnosis. Just looked for the symptom list for the infection and I had a fair few of those(not sure if it was just something similiar, i'm pretty sure the medication they gave me was just for the tonsilitis, Ciprofloxacinin). Seems to have calmed down today, still feel like shit because of the tonsilitis though. Not looking forward to my exam at 9am tomorrow.
  6. Actually ended up phoning NHS24 today after i slept for 14 hours and woke up with a lot of Meningitis/Glandular Fever type symptoms, got a flatmate to drive me up to the NHS 24 place up at Foresterhill after the nurse told me it was 'urgent' that i see a doctor within an hour. Was a tad freaked out by that but after lots of poking, prodding and second opinions it turns out that I've somehow managed to get tonsilitis and a bladder infection. I feel rough.
  7. AccuRadio -- The Next Generation of Radio The Mind Spray hip hop channel is probably my favourite there but the rest are good as well. Good for listening to a specific style as each genre has several different channels.
  8. I thought it was pretty awesome, laughed out loud a few times and the stunts were pretty entertaining (the plane bit was so over the top). On a sidenote: Did anyone else have trouble taking the lead villian seriously because of the character he plays in My Name is Earl? (Billy Reed, who has a hilarious catchphrase that my friend whispered to me during the movie causing me to laugh out loud in a completely quiet cinema)
  9. When i clicked on this thread I thought it might be about this dodgy fellow: Alas, it seems we're talking about the pub The Prince of Wales has gone a little downhill in recent years in my experience, the food was pretty bland last time I went, but that was a fair few months ago. Still seems to draw a fair crowd though. Hopefully the new owners can improve the food a bit, not much else needs changing in there. Speaking of real ale pubs, has anyone been out to the Marine in Stony? Went there recently with a friend who lives out there and it was a good laugh, great selection of Ale and whiskeys and a great atmosphere.
  10. Greetings all, I'm thinking about selling my American Deluxe Telecaster as I don't play it enough these days and I need some cash for a new Bass. It's served me well as my main guitar and im particularly fond of the noiseless pickups and s1 switching (it handles distortion a bit better than other tele's in my opinion). Specs can be found here Fender American Deluxe Telecaster (GAK) I'm looking for around 800 for it (99 less than GAK, and that's not including their p and p) I paid over a grand for it when the model was first released. I've had this guitar for around 3 years (bought it new from Sound Control Glasgow), light home use, it's never been gigged and so is in pretty much new condition. I'm very careful with my instruments so you can be assured that it's in very good nick. Would consider a trade/part exchange for a bass (pref an American Fender). PM me or leave a message here if you need any more details or pics from a different angle etc. I'm currently located in central aberdeen so would be willing to meet a buyer in town etc Cheers, Ryan -Edited for spelling mistakes-
  11. Awesome band, their album is my favourite at the moment. It was a pity that the sound was horrific at TITP, seeing them in Moshulu would be crazy good though.
  12. The film was a bit of an meh for me. The casting was very good, as connie said (I don't think anyone could have done a better job than Depp did, Gene Wilder is a hard act to follow) but the lack of nods to the original really took the film down a level for me. I know its a remake and these days you have to jazz it up but where was the damn oompa loompa summoning whistle? It was much better that Depps stupid 'crazy' noise. Also, the song changes were a bit too drastic for my liking, they could have at least kept more of the original lyrics and still jazzed up a little (the jazzing up seemed a bit too much like trying to appeal to the Shrek generation which I supposed it was meant to). Burton did do a rather good job on the factory itself though, very cool. All and all, it was worth the money and not really a waste of time but could have been better.
  13. I'd buy that if I had the cash. It's a bit pricey for me, even second hand by the looks of ebay
  14. Best- Muse because they were unbelievably good, and the Chemical Brothers in the Slam tent, green lasers, crazy screen graphics, an unbelievable amount of neds off their heads and kicking beats. Worst- Well this more of a funny one, two of the friends I was with decided to buy pot noodles from one of the stands, suffice to say, the noodles came back up in the middle of the night, luckily I wasn't in the same tent as them. Funniest- Seeing a fat guy do a running secret agent type roll/ forward flip over a guy who was passed out. Without waking the guy up. Sly like a fox.
  15. I know this is a long shot but eBay is such hassle so I thought I'd try here. Im looking for a hardware synth, preferably an old analogue one, in complete working order (scratched and bumps don't really matter). Im really looking for something from Korg, Moog or maybe Roland. Anyone got one? Anyway, I'll consider most things within reason. Cheers
  16. I'm currently tring to get a hold of a synth. Havn't really played them that much (outside using VST instruments) but used to play the old keys (piano) so i'm hoping to pick it up fast. I think you probably need someone with a bit of experience using them.
  17. What synth is that in the picture?
  18. One of my friends is building 8 different pedals this summer and just finished a fully working (sweet sounding) valve amp. He's a bit of an electronic nut.
