  1. Fair point, 7/10 (for PrincessHolly) 4/10 for Marillionboy
  2. *cough*ratemine*cough* Tis the point of the thread after all
  3. ^^^^^^^^^ Pretty Cool, quite vibrant and striking (meaning it hurts my eyes slightly)
  4. I know a guy who's been doing it for a fair while in Aberdeen.
  5. This will probably sound like a rather a stupid question to many of the synth buffs on the forum but: If you are familiar with the Kasabian songs Club Foot and Reason for Treason (and other Kasabian type material) then maybe you can help: How would I go about creating the swells and other non usual instrument sounds on tracks like these? What kind of equipment/synths would I need to make these sorts of sounds? I know that this is rather vague but any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers in advance.
  6. In no particular order: -Jimi Hendrix-Axis:Bold as Love (completely transformed my ideas on guitar playing and song writing) -Metallica-...and Justice for All (First proper metal album I bought) -King Prawn-Fried in London (They were the first proper band I went to see live and I listened to this album day and night around that time) -Jeff Buckley-Grace (Before this I wasn't aware that so much heart could go into songs) -R.H.C.P.-Blood Sugar Sex Magik (introduced me to funk and Fruciante's guitar playing on this has influenced my own playing) -Motorhead-Deaf Forever (Taught me to crank the amp that little bit further and play that little bit faster) -Miles Davis-A Kind of Blue (Introduced me to Jazz) -Various Artists-Hellcat Records Presents...Give 'Em the Boot Vol. II (introduced me to the Dropkick Murphys, Rancid and various others) -Young Heart Attack-Mouthfull of Love (Got me back into swingin rock 'n' roll) -Korn-Issues (Im not quite sure why but I always go back to it) -R.A.T.M.- S/T (Morello's guitar playing on this influenced me a lot and the messages contained in the songs got me interested in politics) -Led Zeppelin-Led Zeppelin II
  7. Those images shall haunt my dreams on many a night to come o_O 8o
  8. Thank fuck he's gone. Im just disapointed that he wasn't booted out rather than them letting him resign. Abuse of powers (intimidation of Civil servants on issue of Nanny Visa applications), abuse of taxpayers money (using the train tickets he is given free for him and his spouse but instead giving them to his married lover) and then he is stupid enough to make more enemies by taking a go at felow ministers in his book (reportadly labelled Education Secretary Charles Clarke "soft", Culture secretary Tessa Jowell "weak" and slammed Jack Straw for leaving the Home Office in a "mess". Not the mention the laws that he introduced/planned to introduce which in my mind hardly line up with what a Labour Goverment should be about. He should have been kicked out rather than getting the slight dignity of a resignation I doubt that Charles Clark will be a Great Home Office Minister but hopefully he'll be less orientated towards the right than Blunkett and less hard line on some issues like immigration (it's been reported today that part of the anti-terrorism act that allows foreigners to be detained without trial is a violation of the European Charter on Human Rights and so must be changed, seems that Blunkett has left a pretty bad mess for Clark)
  9. 4th Generation 40GB iPods have up to 12 hours battery life. Look at the features part: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002OXOZM/qid=1103131104/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/202-3569099-8281419
  10. Finally saw it. I thought it was pretty cool, that puppet is quite freaky.
  11. Franky and Benny's has excellent pizza. Oh and that limited edition Sicilian Pizza that Pizza Hut did, that was crazily good.
  12. Yea it was pretty cool. Are they transporting a car prototype or something in the next episode?
  13. I have yet to see it, sounds good though.
  14. Why are you planning to use backing tracks? A real drummer might be better (but then again you haven't specified what type of music or influences) On that subject............... What type of music are you planning to play and what are your influences?
  15. Queen-Killers Iron Maiden- Rock in Rio and I know its not a CD but the most recent Led Zep DVD is crazily good.
  16. That was bloody hilarious *clicks the link to watch it again*
  17. If i could get the money together i'd so buy this right now. Damn my lack of funds
  18. The guitar of Kings (or a king in this case): And my trusty Fender American Deluxe Tele:
  19. I went in last saturday looking for the 'Legend-The Best of Bob Marley and the Wailers' CD and it was bloody 15. I then walked to One up and found it there for 10. It feels like FOPP is becoming too much like HMV and Virgin. A lot of the CD's in the Jazz section seemed fairly overpriced as well. Especially the Louie Armstrong ones.
  20. War Beat is pretty rockin. The intro sounds like Lars Fredrickson and the Bastards but with better vocals and more interesting guitars.
  21. Excellent film. The whole Mustaine bit was really interesting as was the rest of the film. The bassist audition bit was pretty cool, i didnt realise Twiggy and some of those other guys had auditioned. Lars' dad is a legend.
  22. Mike Bordin Dave Grohl Josh Homme (in 'Eagles of Deathmetal') Bonzo Ben Johnston (Biffy Clyro) Matt Sorum
  23. The instruments are awesome in the song but his vocals completely spoil it.
  24. Awesome! Their last show at Kef was killer and the 44s are always good.
