a bit of wood is all you really need... and nails or something to make a pedal "outline" that holds them in place... its really easy to DIY it!

we prefer theo for his consistency, technique and ability to keep time.... Scorge is doing what he is suited to in SPD...

lol how do you have the original recordings?? The only versions of them were on my computer and are now goen because I formatted! Now they are on a CD somewhere in my room lol! Looking forward to the remix tho hehe! Dan - this is power metal so the bass is always low There's no room for it unless you beast out a bass solo in which case all other instruments will stop to give you room ... and then come back in over the top of you LOL

You might like to know that these MP3s are recorded AT MY HOUSE... with a Shure SM57, a MXL V67 and a Firebox.... We have completely DIYed these MP3s and hence don't have the space/time/or microphones to record a drumkit to full quality.... Listen to the drums on Captain Toms recordings and you'll see that even with the above items it's quite difficult! Dan - I think you are confused, Liam hasn't heard the old MP3s, only the new ones so he was speaking about the current suite of songs with Rikki on vocals!! And Liam, lol you should note that Gregor is better on guitar than me and certainly doesn't take a backseat in the band - we basically do equal stuff, either I write the "guts" of a song and he'll change things/add things then I'll change/etc or it works the complete opposite way from that... we both do vocals along with Rikki too! Anyway why is this thread still alive? It's a year old with no mp3s and no reason for living!

also make sure the audio quality is TOP NOTCH if this is going out on redemption... number 1 priority!

this also surprises me as GAK have them at £55 http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/options.php?id=2414 So i'd be taken aback if BMs were beating an online price! must be a 2nd hander surely...

I think the vocals also lack a bit of sparkle aswell... obviosly they are too low - and this could be a consequence of that but you may need the vox to sit out better even when you bring them up... from the sounds of it they might be "muddy" when turned up but again it could be due to them being too quiet.... Have you ever considered the vocal trick where you offset the pitch a tiny amount and pan it? Makes the vocals sound full and rounded in an acoustic only song: Basically make 2 more copies of the vocal track, one pan hard left one pan hard right and keep 1 centered. Then on the left track detune it or pitch shift -12 cents, and on the right track make it +12 cents - add about a 25ms delay to the panned vocals and see how that sounds Its an cool little trick that you might find useful.... I think I used it on this track, but I have mixed the detuned vox a bit higher than normal as I wanted the full weirdo effect coming out ... the vox were quite flat before it: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/songInfo.cfm?bandID=479390&songID=4031524

I have to reiterate the "What's up the snare" comment - was that meant? It doesn't sound great to me... the mix is rather muddy overall - the whole bottom end is mush but that could be just due to the mp3 quality! Good job sneaking synths in there Dan
