yeah but unforunately alot of dickheads simply don't like us because of this forum - they don't even bother about the music at all. It seems to be alot of people who like MMW (I've noticed) that don't like us... I wouldn't mind playing this gig actually, I don't see why it wouldn't be fun - but I have no time for people who will undoubtably call it some sort of "show down to see who's the best". It is not possible to chose a best band out of us 3 (is what I'm saying) due to the fact that our styles are quite different, and more often than that mutually exclusive. You can't say Shania Twain is better than 50 Cent, or vice cersa - they both do different things that can't really be directly compared, if you see what I mean. So when's the gig ?

Just the H&K Vortex, nothing fancy - just good solid state power. The main reason I bought it was for the amazing power/volume output and the perfect clean channel. I run a Boss GT-8 into it, so I have no use for the distortion on the amp - compare this to the cheap Marshall Stacks, which have slightly better dist, but a horrible clean channel - esp at high volumes. I have never liked the clean channels on the Marshalls I've plaed - is this just a Marshall thing? What amp you playing atm? THe top line H&K's are great but for the money I'd rather go for a Randall/ENGL or soemthing like that...

well I do apologise but at least I made a constructive post aswell, unlike AmbientMood did... I was actually responding to a personal attack, and since I wasn't involved in the post before he made his stupid comment I felt I had to respond.

Its kinda silly how they based their vote on "I think this band would go down better at the tunnels" ... no offense to the other guys meant - but that's not a battle of the bands, that's just 2 gigs. I fell sorry for the other 2 bands in heat 1 who didn['t get through because the Society chose Holy Folkes... a bit harsh. But anyway, we might be playing the tunnels at a Society Metal night, should be good...

Ok i'll clear up the confusion regarding the votes.... Basically, if you wanted to vote for a band - you went up and put 50p in the box and stated the band .... however, the box was called "Bribe the Judges" as it was 50% based on the decision of the Tunnels Entertainment Society and (apparently) 50% from audience votes. Now, Ascension had the most audience votes by the end of the night, however, the Tunnels Society thought deBassed would fit the bill better for the final. They also put the band "Holy Folkes" through from the other heat, even though they came dead last in audience votes. It was apparently pretty close between us and dB but I think they just won from the Tunnels Ent. Soc. Was a really good night though, great first gig.... however I must say to the chap who said we looked nervous lol... are you kidding? You do mean us right?! THe whole set I don't think there was one point where we were standing still and not getting down with the audience. Especially near the end. The other 2 bands were like statues up there tbh!

After seeing that pic I want to get a Randall even more than I did before... If I were you Hog i'd go for either a Randall, ENGL or maybe a top range H&K - all good choices. Don't go Mesa and DEFINATELY NOT MARSHALL!!!

Yes, ALL Genres have total worthless lyrics - look at Manowar as a "Metal" example... "Other bands play, Manowar Kill" just utterly terrible. HOWEVER, I find that almost ALL emo lyrics I've ever been subjected too are terrible. I mean utterly terrible. It soudns like a 5 year old kid writing a story on how his pet hamster died (wahh wahh i'm soo upset I drowned in the tears of my sorrow wahh wahh). Whereas there are alot of kick ass metal lyrics out there.
