yes but not really - it makes quite a difference in fingering when G is the lowest string basically you will need to learn to play by reading sheet music - that is probably the hardest task if you don't already know how to read it....

eadg is the first four strings on a guitar anyway? Are you sure that is a Violin tuning - I thought it was a little different to this although I can't remember what exactly.

Those pickups are fine - great for metal, and if you bought the guitar new then they shouldn't be feedbacking at all. What kind of feedback is it? Regular feedback or horrific ear bursting high pitched squealling feedback? If its the latter, the pickups would need repotted and maybe even replaced but since its a new guitar - back to manufacturer!

So a good test for how good you are would be to say how well you disguise the guitar wank. A bad player, just playing fast will be instantly recognisable - basically playing a warm up exercise as a solo or mindlessly running up and down a scale like a yo-yo. A few local bands are very guilty of this and it's quite apparent. However, a good player - will still have this speed, but you will see him do all manner of things to break the mould. No warmup exercise solos here.

Ah well it was fun while it lasted, or should I say until this wanker thought he had something useful to say.

Surely you know what I mean though. You can't say, would you rather have Speed or Skill. Speed IS A SKILL. Just like everything else, some skills are much easier than others, but that's what it boils down to. You could say, would you rather be awesome at Tapping or Sweep Picking. But not Speed or Skill.
