  1. Omg. Eko! (As usual only just got round to watching ep 5 last night...) Desmond is just bloody fantastic.
  2. Democrats have taken the House of Representatives
  3. Think John and I may be joining you in that walk Bri
  4. I use to get the Park and Ride with a bus pass all the time.
  5. The best bus is the 40, it goes right to the carpark... the 1/2 do not.
  6. Any chance we'll still be able to use the old free entry flyers...? THE GHOST OF FUDGE SAYS: WOOPS, THOUGHT I WAS QUOTING, BUT I WAS EDITING. WHO'D HAVE THOGHT IT, I DIDN'T KNOW I COULD DO THAT. OR DID I? I CAN MAKE RACHIE SAY ANYTHING! LET'S TRY, FOR EXAMPLE: wow! i'll be there every week! and i'll pay a tenner everytime! roll on the 15th!
  7. They might ask about current issues in medicine, what you think about the importance of teamwork (and also is any one member of the team more important that the other etc). Why you wanted to do the course in the first place, what you see yourself doing with the degree (if your answer is "I'm keeping my options open" then don't hesitate to say it, shows you've got a broad and open mind). i. what do you want to achieve in medicine? ii. How do you see your career in ten years time? iii. what impact do you hope to make in the field of medicine? iv, what do you think the job of being a doctor entails, other than treating patients? v, imagine you are on comitee able to recommend only one of two new surgical treatments to be made available through the NHS. The treatments are and artificial heart for babies born with heart defects or a permanent replacement hip for people with severe arthritis. Both treatments are permanent, i.e. never need repeating, and are of equal cost. On what grounds should you make your arguments? (those are questions apparently posed by Leicester med school, although I dunno about the last one). Where/what you interviewing for? My Glasgow interview was pretty rubbish, I think I went off on a tangent about MRSA. Aberdeen was pretty good, although I can't really remember much as to what was said - it was relaxed though and the questions straightforward enough.
  8. Only ever seen the reception area and the cellar. It didn't look too bad, but no ideas what the rooms are like. At least it's got To-Go directly opposite for very late night munchies
  9. Hell I'm careful with my brolly, the folk on union st who don't bother looking to see if there's people coming towards them are complete assholes though, amount of times I've been waiting for a bus and nearly had my eye taken out by passing umbrellas...
  10. Hanging around for buses in the wind is not fun. Especially when you make the mistake of holding your umbrella with just the one hand for 2 seconds in order to retrieve something from your pocket... and end up getting hit in the face by the umbrella due to a particularly forceful gust.
  11. I'm glad Desmond, Eko and Locke are all still with us. I was kinda hoping this episode might have given us a little insight into Locke's legs.
  12. Simon is a legend. Yes he sings half a bar out, but still - he's ten times more entertaining to watch than all your generic little emo kids trying to belt out My Chemical Romance.
  13. It's not a new thing, been getting similar emails from eBay impersonators for donkey's. Bloody annoying things. If you can be arsed you can forward them to spoof@ebay.com (I daresay there's a similar thing on paypal) but I doubt they're really able to do anything about them.

    Lost moves to Sky

By the time it's aired on sky folk who are downloading will still have been watching it for ages anyway.
  15. BSM seems to get a bad rep from some people but it all depends on which instructor you end up with. The one I had was great banter and a great teacher, he was really patient and just got the job done. If I could remember what his second name was I'd recommend him to you... but it was a few years ago so I've totally forgotten... if you went in and asked if Derek was still instructing the folk in the office might know.
  16. They provide totally different courses so it depends what you're wanting to study...
  17. Jae Lee - murder I reckon. One of Sun's father's other cronies finished the job perhaps. Episode 2 was still quite patchy though, still leaves me asking even more questions. Then again it wouldn't be Lost otherwise. 2 days till the next one!
  18. Feck, I was all set to watch Lost and now I've gone and started this. It's addictive. So far I've made leeway 2 squares towards the left of the centre square...
  19. 11??? Bahaa, nae chance. Earliest I can be along is about half 12 most likely. Got a gym thing this morning y'see.
  20. Have just received a purple wig through the post which shall be part of my outfit...hoping to have folk round, might go into town after, have yet to decide.
  21. Jesus, that's awful. I'm glad I wasn't in town to see that.
  22. If it is getting pus-like then do not remove the piercing as it allows the pus to drain. Try cleaning it with savlon (diluted) or boiled up salted water (cool it first though, ). TCP is quite a harsh antiseptic, salt water is kinder. If you can, buy ready sterilised saline packets to clean it with, you can prolly get them from the chemist. Pus doesn't necessarily mean it's infected, it can just mean it's inflammed - it's just dead cells. Unless however it's a nasty colour or has an offensive smell. Keep cleaning it a couple of times a day.
