  1. oh no how can i cope with this news, surely Ireland's favourite boy pop band cannot survive without this hybrid of talent..... apparently he wants to spend more time with his home bitch kerry... its alright i've got me coat....
  2. Jesus & Mary Chain - Psychocandy Jesus Jones - Perverse The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses

  5. i really can't see the darkness having much staying power, as a rock band they're ok but their sound is so steeped in the past its hard to imagine they could really do much more than what they're doing at the moment, they've had an extraordinarily good run and should quit whilst their ahead.

    looking good

me and lord christie went in for a couple of pints and i must say the place is looking dead sexy and the new toilets are ace! but yeah like maxwell i'm well looking forward to hearing some bands through the new PA!
  7. i discovered 6 music recently and they play a wide range of stuff. but Peel is still the man...
  8. well the marketing bods at Geffen would have made sure they picked tracks that would suit their target market. so is this geffen wanting to subtely gid rid of axl and his session musician chums? the whole G n R thing is a joke now anyway, its hardly Guns N Roses as we knew and loved them, just Rose cashing in on the name.....
  9. ha ha that would be funny, you should hound james till he succumbs and plays SPD! or kidnap him, stuart is right airplay is airplay but sadly northsound are more concerned with churning out the hits for the masses (which to be fair is their job i suppose) as to breaking any new bands whether they be local or from further afield. even if you were played, the likelyhood is that the DJ would have little interest in what your doing unless your about to break the top 40. whilst i would expect northsound to actively play pish 90% of the time, its still sad that our local commercial radio station couldn't see that a properly run, time and length slotted programme dedicated to the promotion of the thriving live scene and new music is actually viable option (my propsals for such a show fell on deaf ears when i was there). Sadly they fail to see the bigger picture or to actively want to recruit listeners or a bit of credibilty from a section of what should be in their target market.
  10. i'm pretty sure its Kathryn....
  11. oh and always tell the likes of the local media that your on the verge of megastardom even if its not true, they seem desperate to break a band...
  12. should be an interesting ned fest this year with semi intelligent acts like bowie and the cure playing.... i love town the weekend of t in the park, its a ned free zone.
  13. miaow.... one nil simpson
  14. another option is to send something to cammy campbell on northsound 2, he occasionally plays local bands but it needs to be pretty commercial, he's even done a couple of sessions with bands. chris thompson is head of music but i wouldn't hold your hopes too high of getting any airplay on northsound 1....
  15. no to be fair there were six paying punters at your last gig frosty though one left before suvara took the stage. its not for fat hippy records this battle of the bands but for cash. quite like gauche even if i did keep pronouncing the name wrong, the second song they played was awesome.
  16. excuse me for being pickey but.... whats the point of getting all heated about a G n R best of compilation, surely you own all the tracks anyway? who cares, its just an evil marketing ploy, it shouldn't concern their fans. for what its worth though i do share your grievances....
  17. considoring that lemon tree was only the cuts second gig, they should be given the benefit of the doubt i think, i liked what was going on, a bit like those girlie alternative rock bands from the early 90's like huggy bear and bikini kill, i've heard that the demo is pretty awesome but not heard it yet.
  18. the NME will prob think morrissey is cool again the stupid twats. yes i have only just realised the effects morrissey has on betamax's shaving habits. there was a pic of him to promote his manchester gig in may and he was dressed like a gangster with a machine gun and thankfully the sideburns were still intact....
  19. 1) i was ill 2) i'm skint 3) i'm well behind schedule on my thesis next time though maybe...
  20. according to guitarist alan whyte the new album is the missing link between your arsenal and vauxhall & I so there should be some rockabilly moments on it, he's still got the quiff even if the old hairline is receding somewhat
  21. factory, rough trade, mute, warp, domino, chemikal underground.... ah the list is endless...
  22. poor old morrissey, still getting tagged depressive cos he wrote a song called 'heaven knows im miserable now' some 20 years ago. judging by the documentary on him last year, watching him swaggering around LA in his convertible sports car, he looked far from depressive... the twat bit is open to negotiation though
