  2. bah cant go to the gig now as my dubiuos DJ skills have been booked at drummonds.
  3. give me the job, williams would first down the job centre.....
  4. i think EMI are under performing in the mainland European market...
  5. as if!!!! no, the free beer is at drummonds (well not exactly free but i'm owed a few) to warm me up for this musical spectacle and i don't have a 'position' anymore, in fact i have no purpose to be in this city nowadays hence an exit in a couple of months is beginning to look increasingly likely.
  6. thats a brilliant site, its where i got my copy of the DJ Dangermouse 'Grey Album' from.
  7. yes nicely put stephen, good to see you haven't lost your charm or wit or indeed ability to write great songs....
  8. this is typical of the major record companies, i remember a few years ago not long after EMI had paid a ridiculous amount of money to secure the services of by then has been useless twat Mariah Carey they were forced to do the same thing cos after one flop album and a flop movie, they paid off the aforementioned talentless tart a 'lorra lorra' cash as crap scouser cilla black would say. also sony shedding loads of jobs not long after the global flop of alleged kiddie fiddler michael jackson (ha the album was called invincible, something the wacky one is not). for example the regional indie radio plugger was axed.... will they ever learn????
  9. i look forward to it, sorry i've not been to more events but i'm allegedly holed up in the sky lab here in torry trying to finish my degree (badly it has to be said), deadlines looming, not enough work done, stress, tobacco and caffeine levels going through the roof etc. but well you have to make an exception for Maple and any bands on SL Records are always good as is free beer....
  10. aye i should do i wrote about it in the paper this week! what i mean is that i shall be frequenting drummonds for some pre gig drinks before making me way to drakes....
  11. i'm there though apologies for any drunken behaviour as i have some free pints on tap at drummonds.
  12. god i watched it at the time and it was horrible especially when david bowie recited the lords prayer. its just a who's who of who was wank in 1992 thankfully i had me fall, wedding present and morrissey records to keep me sane....
  13. shit thats very observational!
  14. first band are on at 7-30
  15. really???? ooh hope its on the website!
  16. i would take the credit but the editor comes up with the headlines!
  17. unlistenable is usually good, there's an interview with squarepusher on next weeks breezeblock on radio 1, his first in five years apparently.
  18. that indeed is shocking news, more to craig probably than me!
  19. as the great john peel once said 'theres records i like and records i dont - irrelivant of what genre they are' thats the stance i tend to take.
  20. the latter i'm afraid, never used to be mind you...
  21. the helium legg would be happy to headline but there's the south american tour, a benefit gig for the people of Pitcairn Island, the recording of a new concept album about remington blastcaps drinking habits and top of the pops to do so i couldn't possibly fit it in to my busy corporate rock n roll schedule....
  22. you been eating the pies craig????
  23. the bastard son of ministry i'd say with some nine inch nails thrown in, deffo one of aberdeen's more interesting bands i think... but i do agree with what craig is saying.
  24. also some line ups kind of work themselves out, others don't. at this level i feel all bands are equal....
