  1. Hi there, I'm selling off a Marshall MG30 DFX practice amp. It's got surprising good tone and the effects are pretty tasty for what they are! Amp has a cd input and the FDD button. It's up for auction on eBay very cheaply at eBay.co.uk: Marshall MG30 DFX guitar amp - ex display! (item 200095997406 end time 09-Apr-07 10:15:47 BST) but I'd happily end the auction early for a reasonable offer if anyone is interested.
  2. If it's Bannermans you mean, the desk in inside the venue...the only real problem with Bannermans is the deafening volume. Cabaret Voltaire is ace though.
  3. Possibly! What did you have in mind?
  4. I've never had any fretwork done to it - they're quite low I suppose, but the action is set really low with the 9s anyway. A set of 10s would bring it up a wee bit but it's great with either.
  5. Fancy swapping for a Ricky 330?
  6. It's on eBay: eBay.co.uk: 1989 Rickenbacker 330 fireglow red, serial no. H2 7569 (item 160097491739 end time 25-Mar-07 19:35:52 BST)

    Rangers v Aberdeen

Mon the Arabs! At least you don't have to worry about the Budget Huns...er...Hearts getting away from you.
  8. I'm selling my 1989 Rickenbacker 330 in the fireglow red finish. It plays beautifully and the electrics are in top condition. It has a few dings on the top (it is pretty old!) but is a great guitar. It's something of a reluctant sale, and I'm looking for 700 ono. Anyone interested?
  9. You could do, but there are also phono outs and I think maybe even a digital out, although don't quote me on that. Have a look at the spec on the Boss site?
  10. And there was me thinking this was going to be a United thread... Sounding good!
  11. It was fucking funny though - that Simon Amstell (spelling?) is a genius, and Popworld has not been the same without him.
  12. This one is the exact same as mine: eBay.co.uk: BOSS BR-1180 CD Recording studio with CD burner 10 trk (item 140086883873 end time 26-Feb-07 14:14:33 GMT) EDIT - Just noticed that the guy listing it claims he can't understand how to work it. This is seriously easy to get into, he's probably just useless...
  13. Cheers! You can pick them up new for about 300 on eBay, so if you've got 200+ to spend I shouldn't think you'll have any bother. It's also worth pointing out that the onboard compressors and effects are very good (Boss quailty) and mixing is really easy too. It records to a harddrive which is pretty enormous - I've had 70+ full tracks stored on it before now. What I like most is that if you wan a really expansive recording, record your first 8 tracks, mix them and then burn them as a cd. You can then import that stereo track back in over 2channels and free up another 6 - that's how I did all the To The Rescue tracks.
  14. eBay.co.uk: Boss BR1180 Guitar Digital Recording Studio (Not CD) (item 290085989591 end time 27-Feb-07 16:35:49 GMT) That one doesn't have the cd burner, but if you've got a PC, it shouldn't be a problem.
  15. Buy A Boss BR1180, I can't recommend them highly enough. If you're interested, all of the following songs have been recorded on mine: www.myspace.com/totherescueuk www.myspace.com/jondeadenstereo www.myspace.com/themildhearts SoundClick artist: Jon Dick - Rockandrollacousticpopfolkpunkmelodicawesomosityindemoform I know that seems like a plugathon, but it is a seriously excellent machine, and incredibly user friendly. Although anyone buying an 8 track should remember that you'll only get out what you put in, or to put it another way, no machine will polish a turd!
  16. There are two, and only two, bass related offences that can be committed, and they are as follows: Not slinging your bass low enough = booking, followed by a second yellow if not immediately rectified. Slap bass = straight red. In the words of that Hetfield fella, nothing else matters.
  17. PM'd you, cheers! Incidentally, you might like to take a skeck at www.myspace.com/themildhearts ...
  18. The TFC-E has gone - anyone interested in the TW145?

    Bass clearout

Have you got a pic of the jazz bass?
  20. I'm selling both of the above Tanglewood acoustics. They are new guitars, and have been on display for a week or two in a shop. Immaculate condition. Tanglewood TW145ASC - 229 delivered to your door Tanglewood TFC-E SN - 135 delivered to your door Anyone interested? J
  21. My first (electric) guitar was an Epi Les Paul Junior - about 99 new when I got it in '97 - and it was nae bad at all. For someone wanting a good electric on the cheap, I would say Get A Westfield Les Paul (E4000). I've worked in guitar shops for years, and it's still the best budget electric going for under 90 that I've ever played. Anyone who tells you otherwise is talking nonsense. Fact. The Westie Goldtop especially is a great guitar by any standard, and I know countless people who have upgraded the pickups on an E4000 and gig/record with them quite happily.
  22. I'm thinking about selling my Engl Thunder 50 head (it comes with the footswitch although that is in need of some soldering). I'm only considering selling because I use my JCM900 for gigging and I have a Peavey Valveking head as a backup, and the Engl is a bit too metal for me these days. To be honest I don't desperately need to sell it, but I would like it to get more use than I can give it just now, so I thought I'd see if anyone would be interested. I'd be looking for 350 for the head and footswitch and I can post it anywhere in the UK for another 10. The head is in very good condition, although it has been gigged. If anyone saw deadenstereo, they would probably have heard either me or Craig playing through it, and if you listen to the deadenstereo studio recordings, it's on pretty much all of them. Let me know if anyone is interested, Jon
  23. Baited breath my man, baited breath... Flash, it's absolutely no bother and a small price to pay for your fantabulousness
