  1. We promise to perform the Wham Rap especially for you --------------------------------------------------------------------- www.deadenstereo.com www.myspace.com/deadenstereo
  2. Hey man, "Portrait" is from that gig - they came out pretty good, but you can tell it's a line recording. craig wiped his MP3 player, so I've got the only copy just now. When are you next in Edinburgh? J
  3. Just as a wee addendum (spelling?) to this whole thing, one of the two live Moorings tracks is now up at www.myspace.com/deadenstereo along with a taster from our new single. Damn, what a plug.
  4. Cheers man! There's also a live track from The Moorings and a taster from our current single up at www.myspace.com/deadenstereo J EDIT - there's also an acoustic version of a brand new song, recorded the first time we ever played it.
  5. If anyone's interested, me and Rob (he was drummer number two in the Spinal Tap-esque sequence that characterises deadenstereo) have a track up at: http://www.myspace.com/abramgames All recorded and mixed at home tody and yesterday because getting down to Crewe is fucking difficult. Cheers, J
  6. I know it's pretty obvious, but the Boss ODB isn't a bad way to go either - you have a blend control to mix the clean and distorted sound, and if you put the gain up high but blend in only 5% of the distorted sound, you get a defined fuzz sound without the bottom end vanishing.
  7. The absence of soundchecks really isn't a problem. Flash told us to get our sound on stage, an he'd reproduce it out front, and that took no time at all. Most bands who are gigging should know their levels anyway surely? Not meant as a plug, but if you listen to the live recording we have from the Moorings, the balance is great, and we didn't soundcheck. The guys at The Moorings just really know what they're doing. To be honest, I can't see how anyone could have a bad sound solely due to the PA etc there. If it ain't a turd, then they will polish it.
  8. Take a look at the H&K Matrix 100 - it's awesome
  9. Jesus God, please don't tell that to Turner
  10. I can say in all honesty that the Moorings is our favourite place to play, and part of the reason for that is that the sound is fucking spectacular, both onstage and front of house. We've got some live recordings and they sound so good people keep asking me if we overdubbed anything, and the monitors are so good I want to fondle myself at the thought of them. Nuff sed
  11. Do we get extra points for having to give a statement to the cops both before and after going on?
  12. Yeah man, seconded, awesome night! You know it's going to be a good one when your bandmate has to give a statement to the Polis before going on...
  13. Heteros. Ah, the Germanic sheen of ENGL claims another
  14. Word up homie, that sounds ace. I won't be able to leave the Edinbronx until 5 or so cos of work/bombs, so will hopefully be with you about half 7, traffic willing...
  15. Hehe, cheers man! What with all the bomb scares and riots, our minds have turned to mush
  16. Sorry, just to confirm before we pack up our donkeys - there are two cabs that will be at the Moorings? These are not the two cabs that Craig told Brian we would bring? So if we don't bring two cabs, there will be two there anyway? J
  17. Awesome - it'll be the lightest trip to Aberdeen we've had in ages! Me and Iain will be a up later than Craig and Chris though, cos we're both working until 5 and then we'll be hitting the road (like a battering ram on a silver black phantom bike).
  18. Not crazy about the Moorings being great though - it is
  19. You're all crazy. And you should all be aware that it is not worth investing emotion in texts from Craig - he is The Offender when it comes to that I'm bringing my Engl head anyway, so anyone is welcome to use it. Will there now be two cabs chez Moorings anyway?
  20. Cheers man - I live in Leith and there are a fair few strange ones here too J
  21. Hey man - give me a buzz on 0131 555 9391 and we'll sort something out! Jon
