  1. Shitty game, but given I had us down for a 3-1 win, I'll not complain. Assuming we get past Strokey Beerkeg in this round, we'll be up against one of the following in the next (draw tomorrow): AC Milan Ita 129.020 Liverpool Eng 105.950 Arsenal Eng 101.950 Valencia Esp 95.006 Ajax Ned 60.640 Lille OSC Fra 54.757 Benfica Por 51.533 Steaua Bucuresti ** Rom 46.381 (won 2-0 last night) CSKA Moscow Rus 42.504 AEK Athens Gre 39.587 Dinamo Kiev ** Ukr 36.777 (won 4-1 last night) Levski Sofia ** Bul 35.016 (won 2-0 last night) Shakhtar Donetsk Ukr 33.777 Galatasaray Tur 33.634 Hamburger SV Ger 30.960 Slovan Liberec Cze 28.769 We're screwed.
  2. Well, good to see that Hibs are out of Europe before the start of the SPL season once again .
  3. Like the title of the video - "The shit heard 'round the world". Heh heh! Read the full transcript of the conversation on the BBC website earlier. It's just utter gibberish.
  4. My favourite bit was James May's deeply inappropriate "Work makes you free" comment. It made me laugh for ages.
  5. Well, provided we get through the 2nd qualifying round, it's pretty likely the JTs'll be dicked out the Champions League at the 3rd qualifying, and drop into the UEFA. I'd be delighted if we got through the group stages of that, but that all depends on who we bring in. Would be happy with another 2nd place finish, but it's going to be a lot tougher this season - and another cup win wouldn't go amiss. Would be nice to also give Ivanauskas the chance to stamp his authority on the team without fear of random firings. Will any of this be enough for Romanov? Who knows...
  6. It might not be too shit. The LCD projection screens are a lot better than the old style ones. You'll probably be able to see a Sony one around the 60" mark at Comet. It's not as good as an actual LCD tv obviously, but not bad.
  7. I'm quite deeply envious. It's currently hotter than the sun and deeply humid in Costa Del London - with no chance of rain and it's apparently only going to get hotter (was 32 degrees during the day today). I'm not built for this kind of weather. I once saw a house down the road from my mum's getting struck by lightning. It was an amazing sight.

  9. Oh, and in that circumstance, I'd point out how much they used to like their Playstation 2, and how much they'd have loved a Playstation 3 if only there'd been money left over after I'd bought that replacement tv. Little cunts. I'll make a great parent.
  10. Indeedy, currently only Sky One, 1 Sky Movies channel, 1 Sky Sports channel and National Geographic are in HD. It also costs an extra 10 a month above your normal Sky subscription, in addition to the 300 for the receiver. Wait a few months and they'll be giving the things away for free with installation. I was going to buy and LCD tv a few months ago, but they seem to have broken through the 40" screen barrier, so going to hold back and see what a 42-50"-er will set me back in a years time.
  11. 27 and I can hear up to 20kHz on that test (although bizarrely, I can hear something in the 25kHz, but not the ones in between). Can't hear anything on the original thing. Kids damn well better not be mocking me with sound.
  12. Simple solution: Kill 'em all!!! Whoop! Now where's my Patriot missile t-shirt???
  13. For a very long time I thought that gringo man ( ) was a yellow submarine. Never understood why people used it. Once I realised that it was in fact a gringo, never understood why people used it. I mean, look at it:
  14. Makes a pleasant change from killing them in helicopter flights o'doom.
  15. To be perfectly honest, I'm sure that quote was fairly tongue in cheek, but there was a whole chapter spouting the ill-informed American view of the troubles that kept the IRA nicely supplied with funding for weapons for years.
  16. My mother is one of the weegies, and the stovies she makes are 1) ace and 2) made with sausages. I have never gone back to Thains after one of their sausage rolls poisoned me the night that I'd finally managed to pull someone I'd been after for ages many years ago. Fortunately, the next day she was understanding of my very sudden need to run away from her flat...
  17. I've never been able to take anything Moore's said seriously after reading his hilariously ill-informed take on the Northern Ireland situation. If he can get that so wrong, he can get just about anything wrong. His scatter-shot approach to documentary making does him no favours either. If he just concentrated on the main issue instead of going off on wild, often completely irrelevant tangents, he'd present his viewpoint a hell of a lot better.
