  1. I'll have had that ticket for about 15 months by the time he gets his stupid ass over here. How can he be so busy he can't reschedule for 7 months. Boo I say!
  2. Cottiers is on Saturday. And also excitingly Mclusky play tuts on Sunday night. A weekend of rock if ever there was one.
  3. "ben folds european tour postponed this month's tour of the UK and Germany has been postponed due to ben's being ill. the dates have been rescheduled for june 2005" "i'm very sorry and disappointed to have had to reschedule my UK tour. rarely in my career have i had to do this; i take missing a show very seriously. but in this case there was no choice. short of taking daily cortisone shots and having roadies prop me up on stage, it wasn't going to happen. i got very run down and got a nice respiratory infection, which the doctor has warned me to take care of since i recently had pneumonia. we are rescheduling the tour for the spring and i promise i'll get healthy and play my ass off, old and new music, requests and extra dance moves. i'm sorry i'm not there right now and i hope this whole thing doesn't screw up anyone's schedule too badly. ben" Bollocks. I've been waiting 8 months already
  4. Yeah Moshulu is open and you get cheap entry if you're dressed up. I am going as a tennis pro - very scary...lol
  5. What's everyone wearing at Halloween? And is everyone going to Moshulu on Sunday night?
  6. It would be great if someone could post up the list.
  7. I remember not seeing you there Martin (we turned up late) but Motormark and the Electroluvs were excellent.
  8. I can't believe it's your birthday and you're probably not having a drink. Neil and I will make you see sense one day young man. Seriously though I hope you had a great day. You know your a big sweetie and you deserve it. xxx
  9. I think it's fantastic. It seems like a pretty natural progression from Bleed American without straying far from the normal JEW sound. The album sounds so rich and deep, and the harmonies are beautiful, as always. My personal fav at 3 listens is track 3, but i'm sure once it's been in my car for the next year and a half i'll have changed my mind. I don't think this band could release something bad if they tried. Best album of the year so far.
  10. lol...Captain Everything?!! hehe. Sorry... 1. Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American 2. Foo Fighters - the colour and the shape 3. Jeff Buckley - Mysterious White Boy 4. The Fire Theft - The Fire Theft 5. Ryan Adams - Love is Hell Ep 1
  11. Why won't good charlotte just crawl under a rock and die? Discuss...
  12. Sick of it All are playing Studio 24 in Edinburgh as part of the Eastpack resistence tour on the 25th Nov. Where the heck is studio 24??
  13. I am resurrecting the roller skating waitress costume for this year I think. I might as well get my money's worth from those roller skates.
  14. Your photos of that are funky Neil. You should put them in the gallery. I take it Alkaline is Phil/Chug? In which case I was with you guys at the gig. What a gig that was. When does the album actually come out?
  15. Actually they were on T4 Sunday between the new Brittney Spears video and the O.C.
  16. Women have always loved punk rockers. My personal favourite would have to be Chris Schifflet (if you could him as a punk rocker).
  17. That was one of my top 3 gigs of all time. We sat up on the balcony and I swear to god they were so amazing I almost cried. I imagine if they come back though they might play the Academy? I saw them at the Barrowlands last time and it wasn't nearly as good. The whole atmosphere was a bit off after the crowd boo'ed the support....who I can't remember... I can't wait to hear the new album. They are all car sing a long classics, lol.
  18. Has anyone else checked out the new JEW stuff? The single is totally brilliant and the preview stuff they sent out on the mailing list sounded great as well. What does everyone else thing? My fingers are crossed for a gig in Glasgow.
  19. If you are doing any of the above subjects at Uni, you might want to check out my second hand books for sale on amazon. Prices are o.n.o. http://s1.amazon.co.uk/exec/varzea/ts/customer-open-marketplace-items/A2OKWFF4CZNF1G/026-4126631-1250025
  20. Can you expand on 'they just fancy themselves too much'.... I just thought that HA had absolutly nothing new to offer. There are a dozen other bands on household name etc producing the same sound and doing it better. The album is the same. It's fine but I can never see myself thinking 'wow, I really want to listen to HA right now!'. I am really loathe to slag them off because I thought they were really sound guys, but I can't see them getting anywhere.
  21. The 44s are currently recording a 3/4 track Ep. It's undecided at present if it will be released to the general public I think, but i'm sure Iain will clarify that one... Also, watch out for a 1up instore appearence in the near future. I thought they were great, but i'm so biased no-one should listen to me... I thought Norman's Fetish were pretty good and showed a lot of potential, but I thought it showed that it was only their 3rd gig. I would hope that in time they will become a lot tighter, and that the brass would begin to sound a bit more integrated with the rest of the sound, and not just sound like it's been stuck in for the sake of it. But don't get me wrong - I really like them. I thought HA were okay, but nothing special. Top guys though.
  22. I can imagine. You have to wonder how they react to the rest of his stuff.
