It's ridiculous the stuff that we're not allowed to talk about on The Wasteland now for fear of it being moved elsewhere. I mean, take this thread started by you_nazi for instance, which was born on The Wasteland: http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9533 It was moved elsewhere because, technically-speaking, it's about music, even though anyone with half a braincell can tell that it belongs on The Wasteland.

JJ, those are the truest words I have ever read. Banning music discussion from The Wasteland has served only to further polarise the musician-types and the non-musician types. Beforehand, the people who discussed socks would also get involved in gig/music debates because they were on the same forum, which had a knock-on effect of increasing gig attendances and generating lively debates. The reason why there are no interesting online arguments anymore is because every niche group has its own forum, where a handful of like-minded people can chat and nod their heads in agreement. There's no way in hell that aberdeen-music is too busy to make a single forum possible. If The Wasteland and the All Music Discussion forums were joined together, it would be perfect. The number of new threads added each day wouldn't be too much to sift through, and it would save a lot of time flicking back and forth between forums. Even if the general consensus was that that this should happen, I doubt that Neil would do it. It would require backtracking, and no one likes to do that.

To celebrate the fact that no one's posted on this forum in 24 hours, I'd just like to say 'Boobies!'

The last I heard, it had been upgraded to the SECC but they'd sold out their allocation of tickets, so TBS are now gonna be playing Hamden Park instead. If you're quick, there should be a handful of tickets left.

This forum is still deader than a vampire with a wooden stake through its heart. The only thread that generated any sort of discussion was the one about the Moshulu gig, and that's because it was posted on The Wasteland. As soon as it was moved here, it petered out.

You know, I hate to labour the point, but is it any wonder that people don't know which forum to post in when half the music-related threads on The Wasteland get moved elsewhere, while the remainder stay put? I mean, check some of the threads that are on page one of The Wasteland: Norman's Fetish Kriss Kross Soul Doubt Sum 41 OK, so you could argue that some of these are just random threads that don't constitute serious music discussion, but the Norman's Fetish one is about a forthcoming gig, and we're not supposed to discuss gigs on here because it's bad apparently. ?(

Yes, I am aware of what a ghost is, but in my post I was referring to the person who's username is ghost. Complicated, I know, but blame them not me. Anyway, the point is that this ghost dude posts on here a lot but no-one ever seems to bother replying to their threads.

If you want proof that there's no-one reading this forum, check the number of people who have viewed each thread. It's pitiful, and it explains why there are so few replies to any of the threads. (Apart from this one of course.) Each of ghost's threads has been viewed by about 8 people excluding himself. This means that someone accesses this forum and goes to the bother of reading one of his threads approximately once every four hours. If traffic on this forum was any slower, it would be going in reverse. I would offer some feedback on gigs I've been to myself, but you see I don't like bands. I only go to them to get drunk and chat up girls. But hey, for the sake of conversation, seen any good bands lately Ian?

I'm just bored really. Now that Elementz has moved from Gaelic Lane, I've got nowhere to hang out apart from aberdeen-music. But seriously though, all the people who lauded the arrival of the Feedback Forum haven't given it a second glance since it opened. Every time I go on here, there's no-one else viewing this forum apart from me. Still, at least we've managed to initiate a thread of sorts on here, and I guess that's progress.

That does it, I'm just gonna start replying to my own posts in order to sustain this forum. I just did a check, by the way, and the Feedback Forum is officially the least popular of all the general music forums. In the past 24 hours, every other music forum including the AUBL one has seen more activity than this one! How am I supposed to discuss all the great gigs I've been to lately if no-one's listening? I know, I'll use The Wasteland!

Man, this forum is deader than an octogenarian's woody! What's wrong, do you people not like discussing feedback? What happened to all the pre-cum that was spilled when this forum opened? I'm disappointed, I really am. And there was me thinking it was going to be a roaring success...

The best thing to do is just close your eyes, shuffle the mouse about and click on a random forum. Post your thread there and the mods will take care of the rest.

Now if only they'd left it in The Wasteland where it belonged, we wouldn't have this problem.

Isn't it great how when someone starts a music thread on The Wasteland people actually bother replying to it? Who'd have thought that people on this forum were capable of liking music! Makes you wonder what the other 600 music discussion forums on here are for. Keep up the good work

I don't really get off on David Bowie, but Andre 3000 is indeed a dude. I find a lot of hip-hop to be pretty dumb, both lyrically and image-wise, but Outkast are tha bomb, so to speak. Is that discussed enough for you?

Well ya see, if it was just a case of having two main forums - a music one and random nonsene one it wouldn't be a problem. But no, instead we've got The Wasteland (fair enough) and then at least three music forums that all do exactly the same job. And you can try and argue otherwise, but deep down (somewhere near the male g-spot), you know they're essentially the same. It's like walking down Camden High Street and being accosted every step of the way by rastas trying to sell you weed. It's possible to have too much of a good thing. Or in the case of the music forums on here, a bad thing.
