  1. not exactly related but there is a track called Metronome by Nomeansno... Damn good name for a band though
  2. Yep Tribute to Nothing - I used to like them, but, like Snuff I went off their later stuff... The website is a great improvement - its nice to see whats on when you've misplaced the brochure ! Diversity is great. Just cos I dont like or rate something does not mean the Ltree should not out it on:cheers: Dave
  3. They have done some great Peel sessions - cant work out why Radio 2 dont put them on their playlist:cheers:
  4. Maybe you should check out Melt Banana / The Boredoms as well ?
  5. Some of their material is on the Rock Actions CD compilation - a bargain at 4 squids !
  6. Why not listen to some of the Jungle / D n Bass shows on Radio 1 / 1 Xtra ? Bangra Dn B is pretty decent as well....
  7. and the moral of the story is - dont ever accept an invitation to a party when you are in the Metro.....:O
  8. aye reggae dancehall on speed with just a little industrial noise to it - I suppose in some ways extreme DnB basicallly becomes hardcore noise / thrash metal ?
  9. The only thing that bugged me about the Damo night was the amount of smoke in the venue - a mate of mine went home early partly bec of it.
  10. shoot I forgot about my Digital Hardcore compilation - or is that Drill n Bass...
  11. Rather a few hookers seem to work around the Dr Drakes / Market Street area - a taxi driver tells me that many of them are more interested in opening male wallets rather than opening their sacks - the dodgy few work in gangs that beat punters up - so beware of these lovely people ! Dave
  12. What drum and bass albums do you own and rate ? My vote goes to Modus Operandi by Photek, Timeless by Goldie and Roni Size - New Forms. Timeless is the easiest to listen to and a little prog at time as well and the other are more challenging... Dave
  13. I suppose we should mention labels such as Tigerbeat 6 - a great variety of artists on the label - a few of whom are playing down Market Street @ TripTych. As an aside anyone with an open mind who likes the DnB of Squarepusher et al should try Modus Operandi by Photek - a classic album, perhaps better than Roni Size and Goldie's albums, Dave
  14. I was very impressed with Damo - the other members of the band deserve a pint as well even if Napier was playing with an ashtray towards the end.... BTW there seemed to be a Gratefull Dead prison cell break at Drummonds - only 2 escaped though ! Dave
  15. main band on at 10 pm ish according to Napier at the Cavern
  16. Quite a decent review of Kwerk in Dublin - anyone seen them on the tour yet ? Dave Kraftwerk Dublin review
  17. The Beat are playing as well I believe - two tone heaven:cheers:
  18. new reggae "versions" of Dylan tracks
  19. Thanks for the Squarepusher rec - a rather fine album on first listen last night.
  20. Aye tis not even mentioned on the council website as a venue. http://www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/acc/WhatsOn/OtherVenues/default.asp
  21. Any idea about ticket prices ? I've never seen a band down at the Ballroom - but was told that Billy Bragg and a few other bands have played there over the years, Dave
  22. Is Squarepusher's music a bit like Photek playing Aphex Twin muzak ?? I would try him out but I am too distracted by my forthcoming Brazilian compilation....
  23. So were The Smiths actually named after Mark E Smith ?
