  1. What are you talking about? When was this said? Did you just make that up? I don't think I'll ever understand.
  2. I got a cabinet made there. They made it to the specifications I requested. Very good quality, and they have been doing business for years. They used to work with Orange on producing heads etc. Just shows you how good they are.
  3. Deary me, there's nothing better than someone trying to sound intelligent. "Woeful, woeful, woeful day." I don't trust the opinions of those who doubt or disapprove of Cronenberg. That might sound ignorant to the possibility that he'll make a bad film, but statements like "there wasn't much violence" and "In all honesty the film only appealed to me on one very basic level: of love and integrity" make me hope that there is life on other planets. Perhaps Far and Away would've been better, that was on TV tonight. Shite. I haven't heard one coherent statement to really incline me to think that it isn't a good film. Brick wall, head banging.
  4. Delivered today, were: Oxes - Oxes EP Four Tet - Rounds Part Chimp - I am Come
  5. What is it all about? I can log on to it, but only if I go through a link from the rgu.ac.uk site. Even then, I can't find any learning pages (lecture notes etc). Disgrace. Anyone else confused with this new system?
  6. The film in the background is Evil Dead 2. That was a really fun gig. Thanks Steve for your kind comments about Masamune. I'm not planning on doing any solo stuff after my Gavfest (disaster) show. If you're interested there were Masamune songs we roughly recorded before splitting. PM me if you want a cd-r or something. I'm sure I promised one to someone else but forgot. Gav, Maxi and I are in a new group which is only three jams old, but is sounding pretty smart. Anyway, thanks again, Al
  7. Part Chimp eat shit. I think they're twice the band the Artic Monkeys are.
  8. Upon reflection: After being able to consider the events in their entirity, Gavfest this year has made me want to give up music. I feel truly ridiculous saying I'm a musician. I really do need to find a medium that I can feel happy with. My favourite moment was Ewan with taped up eyes and mouth playing drums. That's what made me laugh.
  9. please do, we like the event being documented!
  10. Brilliant sunshine in the land of Gav today so it looks set for an amazing day!!! I'm hoping we leave Joss in the stocks as a sacrifice.
  11. The first series was amazing. It's coming out on DVD on the 22nd I think. The episode Hitcher made me laugh so much I thought it was the days of Alan Partridge again. This series is amazing too! Nanageddon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Sent you a PM Jimr! If anyone else has applied for a ticket and not received it, then please contact me. I thought I'd sent out all the tickets but bastard hotmail might have junk mailed them.
  13. That's strange. I sent them all out, send me a pm with your email address and I'll double check. Alastair
  14. Oh and another thing, I can't see Mark Butcher getting in the squad again. Injuries and age are the key factors. He's been out of Test cricket a long time as well. Caddick is bowling well again, but there's no chance he'll replace say Simon Jones. Robert Key depsite making, I think, 222 in an innings, isn't the most reliable, and has gone cheaply. Ian Bell can't be replaced by someone like Thorpe because they're completely different players. Pietersen for Thorpe was a natural swap. You need your more defensive batsmen to steady and support an innings. Bell is the new Atherton. Granted he hasn't put on a score or spent a lengthy period at the crease, but he must be given another chance. Bell isn't an Ed Smith, where it's obvious he's not right for Test cricket. We'll see after the next Test how he does.
  15. Under Vaughn we've won 18 of the last 28 Tests, and England are number 2 in the world. To me that equals a good captain.
  16. I agree with you on all points. I personally can't see England having any capable spinners until the ideology of County Cricket changes. I just don't think there's a lot of confidence in spinners, so much so, that pace always takes priority and the national test side suffers. Tufnell was good, you're right, but the dedication wasn't there. Smoking grass, and ladies always catching his eye... makes me laugh. My friend read that Tufnell was once fielding out near the boundry in a match, he saw a lady in the crowd wave at him, so thought to himself "This match is boring," and went into the crowd to speak to her. God, I hope that is true! So Rob, is the Bassment showing the Ashes on a big screen?! C'mon you and I could be the only ones watching, in beards, with cricket jumpers, cheering "Riiiiichhhhiee" everytime Benaud's says "What a ripper!", ho ho. I miss playing cricket. (urrrg, Ponting just made 50)
  17. I'd love it if England stuff the Aussies. Flintoff and Pietersen battered Warne and Lee. Tomorrow will be the telling day, whether Australia (Faliure!!!) will bat well, and whether the English bowlers can have the fire of the first innings from the 1st Test.
